Fabulous experience and great hair cut. Joshua was so patient, skilled and a great listener. I felt like I saw my therapist but felt great after.

Worst

I had high hopes for my first appointment, but bob didn't quite live up to expectations. The warehouse setting is really cool, they offer you a drink, and the operation appeared to be efficient and organized. My main complaint is that evidently the standard procedure is to double book the stylists (in other words, my stylist was splitting time between myself and another customer. While an assistant shampooed or blowdried me, my stylist cut someone else, and vice versa). The overall effect was rather rushed. My haircut came out OK (I needed a small correction later), but I felt like I was being pushed through so they stayed on schedule. I didn't feel like the price of my haircut was unreasonable, but I did feel like I should be the center of attention for the amount I paid. I hope bob reconsiders the double-booking policy. Not sure if I would go back... Pros: cool atmosphere, appointment started right on time. Cons: they double book you! :( more

Great experience, wonderful staff, awesome hair cuts 2/24/2008

I have been getting my hair cut at Bob for the past couple of years, and I have always enjoyed the overall experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the atmospehere is laid-back. Customers are always greeted with the offer of a beverage, and my stylist (Brooke) gives the best hair cuts I have ever had. I'm actually quite surprised that anyone would have a negative experience at Bob. Pros: friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, great service more

Awful customer service 7/25/2007

This salon has awful customer service. I went in just to take a look around and was ignored by everyone in the salon. There were a lot of people at the front and not a single one said hello to me. I showed myself around and again noone in the entire place even smiled. So I left. I have no idea how they are with hair, but if their customer service level is any indication I wouldn't get my hair cut here. Cons: Customer Service more

i heart bob! 11/21/2006

it saddens me to see some bad reviews here. i've been going to bob for about a year and a half now, have seen several different stylists, and i've always been more than happy with my cuts and color. the building is really cute and colorful and the staff is very friendly and very accomodating. i never felt like they were just trying to get me in and out; getting my hair done at bob is always a great experience. i've paid a lot more to get my hair done in new york and atlanta, but nothing thusfar has compared to the quality of work and great staff at bob. please don't let those bad reviews deter you from going - everyone i have ever talked to who goes there absolutely loves their hair and the salon. i've sent all my friends there and no one has ever had a bad experience. i love bob and i think you will, too. Pros: great atmosphere, super friendly staff, free beer and wine! more

Wouldn't Recommend 11/18/2006

I followed a stylist to Bob when they opened. I had been seeing Donna for two years and had followed her from a previous salon before that. I think she made a poor decision to move to this place. It is basically a 100 year old warehouse. I guess some people might think that is cool or chic but I think a salon should be upscale and clean. If I am going to pay $50 or more for a haircut I want to feel pampered. I got the vibe she wasn't totally happy with the staff and management so I am hoping she will leave and go somewhere new. I saw a couple of other people mention the parking situation and let me assure you its horrid. That's another reason I stopped going. I wish Donna would see the error in her move and go somewhere else. ANYWHERE ELSE! so I can start seeing her again. Cons: Difficult parking, grungy building more

Three strikes and you are out 11/18/2006

A couple of my friends started going to Bob when they opened so I gave them a try. I know there is always different levels of talent in a salon so when I was unhappy with my first cut I simply asked for a different person my next trip. Same result. My friends encouraged me that I needed to see Nicole and that she was basically the only one in there that had ever really been trained to cut hair. I reluctantly made an appt with Nicole for my next cut. I got the feeling while she was cutting my hair that she would rather be waiting tables than making me feel welcome as her client. I guess I would have to say it was the best of three cuts I got at Bob but I would fall far from saying it was great...barely good for that matter. If Nicole is the ""best"" of the class, I have seen enough. Cons: Poor quality haircuts more

Great cut, friendly staff 11/17/2006

I drove from Alpharetta to Athens, on the recommendation of my best friend, to have Lyric cut my hair. It's curly and has a mind of it's own, but somehow Lyric was able to do what many have failed at over years of trying to deal with unruly curls. It's a 70 min. drive from my home to bob(Salon), so I don't always make the trip when it's time for a cut/color. However, whenever I have made the effort, it's been well worth the extra time and trouble. Lyric is a miracle worker, but each of the hairdressers are excellent at what they do. Friendly staff, good products available, great ambiance in a salon that's not just an old house or a storefront in a shopping center. The place itself is part of the whole bob(Salon) experience. I had a great time and my hair never looked better. Thanks Lyric and Alissa. Pros: Great with curly hair! more

I, for one, really like BOB Salon. I've always had nothing but great service here. Give all the salons in the area a try and I'm sure you'll agree with me. I think Nicole is a fantastic colorist and I'm more than happy with my service. more

Fabulous color ... 11/14/2006

6/10/07: I do not want to say anything bad here... I really LOVE bobSalon and, for a year, my hair was fabulous.... However, I could not leave my review up from last time(written on 11/14/07). Simply put, I do not recommend bob at this time for hair extensions... I am shocked at the service I received. However, bob is very brave and the first in Athens to dive into the art of hair extensions. I hope that they continue to learn and improve their system to provide a consistent service for the Athens area. I wish them all the best. Pros: Best highlights, coloring, and great cuts Cons: Hair extensions: I look like a White Snake video now more

I felt comfortable being a guy in a chic salon! 11/13/2006

Wow, what a relief.I thought I was walking into a chic salon, but I had been told that it was the best haircut in town, and, while, the salon is very beautiful, it is not at all a chic salon....I felt as comfortable there as if I had walked in to a barbershop with a barber pole. Better than any Palm Beach Salon 11/13/2006

I just moved to Athens from Palm Beach, Florida. I was sure that I would have to fly back to Palm Beach to get a decent haircut. A neighbor told me about bob(Salon) and I called the salon. A very nice, very friendly girl named, Alissa, recommended that I make an appointment with Lyric because I have short, curly hair. Pros: Great parking, wonderful staff, beautiful salon......and FREE WINE!! more

A Not So Special Day 11/11/2006

I went in this place as part of a group of five people for my friends wedding. Big mistake. We couldn't believe how rudely we were treated. One of the girls actually had to end up essentially doing her hair herself because the stylist she was put with couldn't work a curling iron. We should have charged them but instead they charged us and boy did they ever. I felt bad from friend who paid the bill because she knew they had done a horrible job. Thanks alot BOB for starting her special day off on such a sour note. I hope people heed this warning. Cons: HORRIBLE service more

Will Never Go Back Here 11/11/2006

I was also in the wedding party that was mistreated at this place. Shame on you guys for being such rude people. We were shunned form the moment we walked in. To make matters worse they charged us more than I pay in Atlanta for the same service and did an extremely poor job. I ended up having to redo my own hair afterwards. I will never go back here. Cons: bad in every aspect, ruined our event more

WAY over-rated... 11/11/2006

Following the reviews on here.... I went ahead and booked an appointment for a haircut with color here. Now I am sitting at home wondering what if anything can be done to fix my hair. Do your hair a favor and stay FAR away from this establishment. Parking is horrible..prices are WAY to high..and the finished product leaves MUCH to be desired. Pros: still looking for that Cons: expensive, poor service, poor parking more

Very unique and trendy 10/3/2006

I went in today not expecting much, however I came out really really loving my new hair style. I went and saw Lyric, and let her pick a style for me. She was very precise in every single cut. The cut is absolutely wonderful, and I can't wait to see it grow out. Very very good place to get your hair styled, better than the places ive been to in mid-town and downtown Atlanta. The price is excellent compared to the more expensive salons, and the quality and the style of the cut is better. The salon is very unique, it has a very nice design. It was very comfortable, and I'm definately going to see her when I get tired of my new style. Pros: lots of parking, very neat atmosphere inside, appointment started on time more

Bob Salon is a great salon. I always get a wonderful haircut here and really enjoy the employees. I can see why the salon is always so busy--the atmosphere is fun and inviting and the salon decor is interesting (not to forget about my great haircut.) If you go get your hair cut here you won't be disappointed. more

BOB's is FANTASTIC! Why would you want to go anywhere else? They have the best stylists in Athens. I would trust any one of them to do my hair. Save yourself some time and heartache and don't even bother going anywhere else in town. I've been to them all and this place is the best of the best! more
