Editorial review from Citysearch 1/18/2013

1 Year Later=Total weight loss of 86lbs!!! \r \r After having three kids in 26 months (my son, then 26 months later twins), I was sick of being the fat girl. I had gained a tremendous amount of weight with my kids and really let myself go. A close friend of mine, who used to be a personal trainer, recommended Zero Gravity Fitness. I immediately loved the gym which offers a wide variety of fitness packages (body shock, reformer Pilates, super flex, yoga, kettle bell, barre etc...) for total body and mind wellness. It has a very friendly, clean, enthusiastic, personal atmosphere and is not filled with slimy personal trainers. In about 3 months I lost close to 20 lbs and people were not recognizing me! I have always worked out (except for these 2 ½ childbearing years), but was never able to target the areas Body Shock was blasting. My arms were toning up, waist was slimming down, upper back was getting smaller and my “mommy” posture was diminishing. I completed my first half marathon in 1:50 and was so excited that I broke 2 hours! I signed myself up for my first full marathon and bought another body shock package. I was hooked and determined. This was something I never even dreamed I could accomplish! \r The Body Shock training approach is so effective because it is always “shocking” your body. I used to work out for hours and not get the results I have seen with this training. The exercises we do are always multi-faceted targeting not two or three, but many major muscle groups at one time. I am now in the best shape of my life, confident, have amazing amounts of energy to keep up with my 3 boys, rarely get sick, feel wonderful, and happy with every picture that I see of myself (something that never happened in the past)! The personal attention that everyone receives at Zero Gravity is immeasurable. The group expertise of the trainers is remarkable and they all really care about each and every one of their clients. Zero Gravity Fitness has helped me to accomplish dreams that were not even fathomable in my “Mommy” life. Thank you so very much Zero Gravity! \r Danielle M more

Zero Gravity Fitness is a wonderful alternative to the big fitness centers in town. The instructors are friendly and helpful. They will help you achieve your fitness goals with small group classes or private sessions. I take pilates classes and personal training sessions. I have never felt and looked better. Thanks Zero Gravity staff for all your support in helping me live a healthier lifestyle. more

Pure Pilates Heaven 11/3/2011

If you are looking for a pilates studio or interested in learning about pilates and the reformer, Zero Gravity on Maguire road in Ocoee is a wonderful gym. They offer pilates classes, and you can buy class packages (no initiation or monthly gym fees! only pay for what you use). The instructors are fabulous, and I highly recommend Natalie or Sara for reformer group or private classes. The instructors are all formally educated and are trainers as their profession. more

On my list of 5 BEST FITNESS STUDIOS! 8/26/2011

Must say, I was a little more than shocked to read the review by 'Uncalled For...'. First, my credentials...I have been exercising my entire adult life (40+ years), having the good fortune to work out in classes and gyms from LA to San Francisco to Manhattan and many cities in-between. I have been taking Pilates classes for 14 years and I have worked out at Zero Gravity since they opened their doors over eight years ago. When Sara and Leo bought it, they brought it to another level with increased and varied classes, skilled and personable instructors, and top customer service. When I first met Sara and Leo I wondered, 'could anyone be that nice?' Through the many years of getting to know them, I realized that they actually are that nice. They get to know all their clients on a first name basis and I have NEVER seen either of them anything but professional with a calm and supportive demeanor. Zero Gravity is definitely on my list of 5 BEST FITNESS STUDIOS! more

I've never been big on personal exercise, even though I know the benefits and what I'll get in return. I always get bored and then drop out. more

Uncalled for... 8/19/2011

My wife has been a member at Zero Gravity on and off since they opened and loves the instructors and friends she has made there. She attended a recent Pilates class however, and upon arrival was told that she only had one session left on her current program. After checking her notes, my wife reminded the desk attendant of a conversation that cleared her of the no-show for which they had her noted. The female owner (Sara) got involved and reluctantly agreed to a credit for the error. The class was beginning to start and they all agreed to discuss the other discrepancy afterward. Instead of waiting until it was finished however, Sara chose to interrupt the group in the middle of a reformer session to deliver my wife her client record in front of everyone. Following the class, my wife reviewed the record and found that the other class, for which they showed her signed in, was one that she could not have possibly been available to attend. Our oldest daughter was overseas and we had used no sitters for the entire time she was gone. When she tried to approach Sara with her findings, she was called a liar and things escalated from there. Sara called in her husband and began to berate my wife, continuing to call her a liar and accusing her of trying to get a free session. (Keep in mind this is over $24.00). At one point the husband (Leo) actually ripped the gym towel out of my wife's hands demanding that she leave immediately and never come back. My wife said she was not leaving without a refund for all three sessions. Sara returned, slamming the money on the desk and demanding my wife to sign as proof; then yelled at her again and demanded she leave. When my wife got to the car and counted the money, she realized that they had accidentally over paid her by $20.00. While most people would have left with the extra money, my wife went back inside to return the twenty dollars in a gesture of good faith. When she turned to leave however, instead of being grateful, Sara again followed her outside and continued to humiliate my wife in public. While this behavior is out of character of what she has experienced with them over the past few years, I am amazed that any business owner in today?s economy would choose this approach over a $24.00 fee. Understanding that time often allows for clearer heads to prevail, I have made an effort to contact Leo prior to this posting in hopes that he would at least apologize for the behavior. To date he has not returned my call. If you choose to do business with this establishment, I highly suggest keeping good notes. While my wife has no plans to return in the future, she will greatly miss her instructor and the friends she made there along the way. A simple apology could have kept any of this from being necessary. more
