Zach's Sports & Spirits

zachs is definitely the place i go to if i want to have a good time, good laughs, and great food. the atmosphere is very welcoming and comfortable. the people are so friendly and the service is excellent and the staff couldnt be nicer. dont worry about the entertainment either. tv's everywhere and when i say everywhere i mean it. 2 big screens and tv's in the bathrooms. its unreal how awesome of a place this is. its hard to find someone who lives in the county and hasnt been to or heard of zachs before. if your in the altoona area or blair county you have to stop by zachs. if you dont, thats your loss. more

Zach's is probably the best true "sports bar" in Altoona to watch the game, drink beer and eat good pub food. The atmosphere at Zach's cannot be beat. They have more TVs than I can count, so you will never miss a play! In fact, I don't think there is a seat in the place that you can't see a TV from, including the restrooms! The bar is huge and the tables are spacious. There are several large pool tables and very high ceilings with great ventilation, so it doesn't feel like a stuffy, smoky bar. The food is good - but not the best bar food in town (for that see my review of Al's). But their "nitro" wings are still very good (but hot!) and what I usually order when I go there. Service is usually good and prices are moderate for the Altoona area. All in all, a great place to eat and watch the game! more
