When Z Square first opened, it leaned more to the upscale and was a welcomed addition to the Harvard Square area. I am admittedly a food connoisseur of all kinds and I was one of the many who missed the previous establishment in the 580 Comm Ave space. However, the addition of Z-Suare while heralded, has been a serious disappointment. The main disappointment is in the management, leadership, and customer service. It truly starts with the leadership and managers. I have, on more than one occasion, found the managers to be rude to customers in an open setting, one incident was witnessed by patrons and waitstaff. I can only attribute the lack-luster food preparation and the poorly-trained waitstaff to the leadership of the managers. Furthermore, the ""buzzer-fast food"" feel of the service is, at best, inappropriate for what the establishment may aspire to. To harken back to the previous establishment, the waitstaff and managers were kind and grateful for the patronage they received with a similar model of service. Some lessons can be learned here.
