Food is okay, not the best quality or anything. Korean owned Japanese food usually isn't very authentic. What's worst was our server. Wasn't sure if he was just having a bad day, ...

A horrible restraunt experience 8/1/2011

I would not recommend this place at all. If it weren't for the fact that I was with family and friends I would have walked out of this place. The quality was terrible and the service wasn't anything to rave about either. Our server even forgot to bring us a few of the rolls on our order! When we mentioned the forgotten rolls we were told to put it on the second order but yet again they left those rolls out. The soda is served in a can come on people get a soda fountain we have the technology. Yes you can order all you can eat in one hour! I understand as I have seen people sit at these things for 3 hours but they really make you feel the time crunch as mentioned in the other reviews. The sushi rolls even fell apart as you picked them up. This is a big sign of inexperienced sushi chefs. There is hope though as this is the kind of place that shows you anyone can make sushi they just didn't say that it would be that good. When I asked my friend who took us to this place the reason for her enjoyment she said it was for the smoked salmon and for the big pieces of sushi. Let me just say that yes the smoked salmon was a treat but the only apparent thing on the menu worth ordering. As for the large pieces of fish it would only be enjoyable if it were quality but this stuff tasted plain. I would discourage anyone from wasting your money at this place. If you want quality you go to Danakai (Dana Point) . If you want quantity go to Zenko Sushi (Mission Viejo) which offers an all you can eat menu around $24, and a medium quality sushi. And a few others to try are Taka O Japanese in San Clemente, Good Choice Sushi (Laguna Niguel), or Shogun in Mission Viejo). Good luck sushi lovers. more

You and I - A gem gone bad 4/7/2010

When the all you can eat Sushi started this place was ahead of the pack in my area. As business grew, quality went down the drain. It has been about a year or so since I have eaten there but my wife and I are going tonight to give it another chance. If it is good I will say so and if it is bad I will say so!!! We are fortunate to live in an area that has numerous ALL YOU CAN EAT Sushi Bars so we have become a little picky in our taste. We go to all yo can you eat when I am starving and the thought of spending $200.00 at a high quality S Bar is not real appealing. Don't get me wrong, I love high quality Sushi and the cost is worth it but spending $200.00 for dinner on a Wednesday night simply does not make sense. I love a bargain and I love All You Can Eat Sushi. My wife will eat an order of salmon and tuna Nigiri and and maybe a roll but I will eat 10 orders of Nigiri and a bunch of rolls and hand hand rolls. It all works out for the Sushi bar since she does eat much and I eat eat a lot. I am 6'5"" tall and work out a lot so I am always hungry, Ok, so lets see how it is tonight and I will be brutally honest tomorrow. This is the closest S bar to our house so convenience is key. I will up date you tomorrow. Scott Pros: Cheap Cons: Local to mu my residence more

Avoid Avoid Avoid 8/23/2008

Yeah I know this is an all you can eat sushi place. Nevertheless, the sushi here is bad. I have been to many many sushi places, and this place just is not worth it. And the service is horrible. My waiter was actually eating chips, licking his fingers, and then serving me. When I ask for something, he didn't acknowledge my request. Avoid this place. Only people who don't know sushi would go here. more

Savory Sushi at Bargain Price 6/18/2008

Although $20 might not seem like a bargain for a meal- it certainly can be considered a great value for an all-you-can-eat Sushi buck! At ""You and I"" the variety of sushi is fresh, tasty, and an overall pleasure for the palette. Start with the miso (a must have at Japanese restaurants) and continue on with the delectable Dynamite dish- scallops topped with a creamy sauce. There are so many sushi rolls to choose from, the all-you-can-eat deal will be put to great use if your stomach can take the party in your mouth. Try the eel and the rainbow rolls for a bona fide delicious experience! Pros: Bargain, Fresh Sushi more

Can definitely get better 4/21/2008

Food is okay, not the best quality or anything. Korean owned Japanese food usually isn't very authentic. What's worst was our server. Wasn't sure if he was just having a bad day, hates his life or hates his job. Had a bad attitude and even worst service. I'm hoping the rest of the staff isn't like that. more

Where value meets quality 3/4/2008

I have been going there for about 8 years now, and have turned countless people on to the place. Reading the reviews... I don't think anyone has stated some of the things I am about to say. What people have said is that You and Sushi is the place where value meets quality. Is it the cheapest... no. Is it the best quality... no. What it is, is great quality for an all you can eat place.\r \r Anyhow, I only have two problems with the place. One being that there is a lack of diversity in the rolls. A good majority of the rolls are california roll based. There is nothing really special about the rolls.\r \r And the other is the total lack of any sort of ambience for the most part.\r \r But to me, eating is the priority, and you can do it well at You and I more

Sushi Done RIGHT!! 2/9/2008

The all you can eat special is GREAT for two reasons: 1) the food is quality. must all you can eat have low quality sushi to make up for costs, but You and I Sushi has the amazing quality sushi, and 2) the chefs are funny and a enjoyable bunch of guys. If you like quality sushi that is all you can eat with nice person preparing your food to chat with, if you want, then You and I Sushi is the place. If I could afford it, I would eat there for every meal. Hope to see you all there drinking and eating the dank sushi at You and I Sushi, CHEERS! Pros: High quality sushi for all you can eat. more

Worst Service and Sushi 8/8/2007

I've been here ahandful of times but i've stopped coming because the service has been so bad. Everyone i've talked to about this restaurant has agreed with me too. I stopped coming here because the last time I went there (over a year ago) my server brought me my miso soup w/ a fly in it. Already knowing the service was awful and that the server wouldnt do anything for me, i waited for the manager to walk by. When she did, i showed her the fly in my soup and asked her for another. She came out with another but i never received any apologies or a discount...nothing at all. After leaving a $0 tip, I never went back.\r \r If you want a great overall all you can eat sushi experience try Zenko, which is only 5 minutes away from You and I. Pros: Everyone likes the crunchy rolls there..i dunno why Cons: poor service more

quantity vs. quality 6/22/2007

I agree with the other reviewer. THey have a great all you can eat sushi thing going and i love their crunchy rolls. I usually get the all you can eat just for the rolls...but I don't recommend the sushi, it's probably because the price is low that the nigiri is small and the fish is small too. I shouldn't complain. I recommend coming here for the rolls and if you just want to stuff yourself with sushi, but not the nigiri. Pros: rolls and quick service more

Great All-You-Can-Eat Sushi Bar 7/26/2006

This is a great sushi place. The rolls are great and taste great. The sashimi (raw fish for sushi beginners) is always fresh when I go there. I go about once every other week. \r \r Lunch is around $18 per person (11:30am - 2:00pm) and dinner is around $23 per person (5:00pm - Closing). There is no difference between the lunch sushi menu and the dinner sushi menu, so I don't get why they would charge higher just to make a few more bucks during dinner.\r \r The restaurant is Korean owned and the sushi chefs are very entertaining. It's not authentic Japanese, but if you just want simple all-you-can-eat sushi, then this is the place. Pros: Good sushi for people wanting simply made sushi Cons: Different prices for lunch and dinner for the same exact menu more

Question is...do you want quantity or quality? 6/19/2006

You and I Sushi is a great place if you have a sushi fix that needs to be satisfied where quantity is the issue at the expense of quality. They offer an all you can eat menu where you order your sushi and/or rolls in advance on a sushi/nigiri roll order sheet that are ""made to order"". I say it in quotes because most of the rolls start with a basic california roll that are pre-made in advance. Various toppings are added and served. There are exceptions to this, but very typical at any all you can eat establishments. The freshness and quality of the fish is decent at best, but almost all sushi restaurants that serve high quality fresh sushi (that melt in your mouth) will usually cost you alot more (especially if you have a large appetite). If you can sacrifice quality for quantity, this is the place for you. Also, this is not a place to go if you're seeking an authentic Japanese experience. This is a Korean owned and operated establishment. That is not to say they cannot make great Japanese food, but the authenticity is definitely not there. The environment is definitely not romantic, but has a decent size sushi bar with 2 tvs showing the sporting games of the day with various booths and tables. Great place for large groups w/ a big appetite for sushi and of course sake and beer. Recommended rolls: volcano roll, catepillar roll, rainbow roll. Pros: All you can eat at reasonable price Cons: Quality of sushi more

Best All-You-Can-Eat Sushi in Orange County 4/18/2006

This is a great sushi restaurant that offers all-you-can eat sushi and other stuff on their regular menu. The fish is fresh and the all-you-can eat comes with appetizers like edemame and chicken teriyaki...Great value, great service, great food! Highly recommended. Pros: Fresh Fish, Great Sushi Selection, Great Appetizers more

Best Sushi! 3/6/2006

I grew up in Mission Viejo pretty much my whole life. You & I sushi is easily the best sushi bar in the Southern Orange County area. They offer an inexpensive ""All You Can Eat"" lunch and dinner that doesnt even compare to the expensive prices of Los Angeles. The fish is always fresh and the service is great! I would recommend You & I Sushi to anyone. Pros: Fresh Fish, Inexpensive, Great atmosphere more

Great Sushio 2/22/2005

We love to go to You and I for the all you can eat sushi. It is not a buffet, they make the sushi fresh as you need a new batch!!! Very good food at a great price!!! Pros: Great prices, Fresh Sushi, lots of choices more

worst sushi ever 9/30/2004

This place had the worst Japanese food ever! If you like imitation Japanese food and sushi then this is the place to go. In betweeb the so called sushi chef yelling in KOREAN the entire time and the deformed sushi rolls and the limp and pathetic looking nigiri sushi this had no real Japanese/ Sushi atmosphere to the restaurant. Pros: no waiting, good parking Cons: , service, price more

Very Underrated 5/22/2004

Possibly one of the best hidden secrets in South County. Not a pretty stip mall but that is often the case with the best sushi bars. Be hard pressed to find better sushi for the money. Have ""all you can eat"" pricing for lunch and dinner...BUT, you can order special items that are not often found in many bars. Yes, they are missing some of the very exotic species--but, if your taste is for balance and variety, this is the place. And once again, the prices are very reasonable. About 1/4 the cost of Manhattan and 1/2 the cost of West LA. Pros: Food Quality, Value, Number Of Chefs more
