Dudes- this place is awesome. I was well on my way to my RYT200 with YogaFit when I hit a stumbling block...my last three trainings were not offered locally or they didn't fit in my schedule- and being impatient I went looking elsewhere to see where the wind would take me. Two months later, I'm a happy lady. I've taken classes with Caroline, Erika and Kristen (Bob's wife) and have been thoroughly satisfied each time I leave class. Yogalife is set apart from the crowd because they offer an elevator lecture at the beginning of each class. I enjoyed my teacher training through Yogafit but this was the part I was missing- mini-lectures in small doses really aid in the retention to encourage living a more thoughtful life. Wednesday night and Saturday afternoon seminars are just what the doctor ordered for getting deeper into one's practice- and the four hour and weekend intensives are great supplements. All of these are part of the teacher training but anyone can hop in at any time- because of this, I was confused with when and where I had to go and show up and got a little anxious about the details of it all...but once I caught on to the culture it's really simple- you come when you can and don't when you can! (although, all of the Wednesday night topics are exciting...makes it difficult to miss...) I have never been to their previous space near Whole Foods but from what I understand this new space is far superior- the vaulted ceilings and bamboo floors really add to the ambiance of an open and accepting practice. There are classes for voice (I know, right?!), prenatal, kids, beginner, intermediate and vigorous vinyasa (get ready to SWEAT!!) Cheers to Bob and Kristen Butera for running a tight (and therefore pretty effortless) ship! more

Nice people, Good Instruction, Inviting Atomosphere... 4/11/2008

I have taken yoga at many places, and this is an exceptional studio! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the teachers are well trained and very encouraging. It has a true community feeling and you can tell that the people there really want you to feel at home (in the studio and in your own body). Good instruction on yoga poses, yoga lifestyle, breathing etc. If you're a beginner then look no further - they teach true beginner classes here! If you are a more advanced practictioner, you will definately be able to deepen your practice in this enviroment. more

Authentic Yoga 3/28/2007

This is true yoga. The teachers go out of their way to describe all the aspects of yoga, not just the poses. They also seem to really care about the students. They never criticize or embarrass anyone and are very positive. There are all different levels available so pretty much anyone could find a class. There are a fair amount of guys in most classes so usually, you're not the only guy. The other thing is that you never get a feeling that anyone is evaluating you or more advanced students are snickering at you. Everyone really seems nice and seems happy and excited when you make a small advance. They also have classes that teach meditation and other subjects. They have really great relaxation! Pros: great teachers, not overly crowded, friendly people, true yoga (not exercise class) Cons: ? more
