Rare and Excellent Shop 11/20/2010

We moved to Portales a couple of years ago and over the past year have done all our gift shopping at Woody's Jewelry. The quality and variety they offer in different prices blows away anything we have seen in much larger cities. The gifts from Woody's have gone all over the country and when my wife bought me a great watch it came from Woody's. The friendly owners would not even allow me to pay for one repair. We found some really unique items like the Nambe titanium southwestern and modern design metal plates from Santa Fe that we gave as a wedding gift. Outstanding store and great owners! more

wonderful jewelry store 9/3/2010

Woody's is wonderful. My husband is from Portales, and we now live in NC, I send all of my jewelry to him from NC to be repaired. There is no one I trust in NC. more

More than Glitters! 7/31/2008

Woody's is a very nice little jewelry store. He has beautiful pieces, but that is not why we use this store. Woody's will fix your glasses! They also clean your jewelry and repair it. I can't afford new right now, but they are so friendly and knowledgeable about what they do, and I trust them with my jewelry. That is the biggest compliment I can give to a jeweler! I recommend Woody's not only for buying a special piece of jewelry, but also for the cleaning and repair of jewelry at a reasonable price. more

We make every effort to understand what the customer wants and we understand the sentimental feelings and pride our customers take in their precious jewelry.We are a 2-generation, family-owned and operated business that has been helping couples say “I Do” since 1955 and we’re proud of the fine reputation Woody’s Jewelry has built for over 50 yearsWoody’s Jewelry was opened on March 1, 1955, by Woody (H.L.) and Myrtice Woodward. The couple were married in 1943. After being wounded in World War II, Woody went to the Thompson’s School of Practical Watchmaking in Kansas City, MO, where he learned watch and jewelry repair. The store began as mostly repair, but the couple expanded inventory as they grew.They started in a small building and in 1962 moved to the larger permanent location at 117 W. 2nd St. The store is still at this location and run by Danny and Chris Woodward. The store doubled in size during the September 2006 expansion and remodel.
