I have nothing new to add to the other bad reviews here, except to say that the staff will be very nice to you until:\r \r 1) You ask them to fix anything in your apartment.\r 2) You tell them you are leaving.\r \r The ""quietness"" of your experience there is entirely contingent on who your neighbors are. The walls are paper thin, so you will hear whatever they do. \r \r The complex is not secure, and there are trails behind the complex that vagrants use. The police had been out to the complex several times during my tenure there. They told me to lock my sliding glass door because there have been break ins. \r \r And there are roaches there that no amount of spraying can take care of. They are imbeded. Really enjoy living here 1/12/2010

I've been here about 6 mos and really enjoy it. I was scared off of this place at first because of the reviews online, but my apartment locator brought me here and we fell in love with it. The location is great (right next to Sunharvest, Central Market, not far from downtown) & the complex is quiet. They also offer a pool, 3 mac computers for use, and fitness room with TVs.. and while there aren't many machines in there, there usually aren't many people either. I have had some problems with the computer and printers in the computer room, which the office staff has more or less shrugged off. Wouldn't keep me from renting here though. Anyway, it's a nice place-- some of the units are a bit older but have not seen any sign of bugs at all since I've been here. Would recommend. Pros: fitness room, quiet, spacious units, friendly maintenance Cons: laundry room cards, poor lighting in parking lot at night more

I don't know what all the complaining is about! 10/20/2009

I've been living at Woodmoor for over two months now, and maybe I haven't been here long enough to see all sides of the picture, but so far I like what I'm seeing. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our unit is decent.... new carpet, some of the appliances are a little older than I'd like, but they are in working order. Our few maintenance issues have been addressed promptly. We've never seen a roach in our unit. We've got a nice view of some nice trees, and have never had any problems with parking or noise. We signed a one year lease, but are considering two because if it ain't broke... My only complaint so far is that the laundry rooms require a prepayed card to operate, and you can only prepay that card during office hours, and we found ourselves in a serious pickle early on in our move, but have since learned to keep enough money on the card to cover a few loads. Pros: well kept grounds, quite complex, pet friendly more

Why I would NEVER recommend Woodmoor Apartments to anyone 5/11/2009

1) R0ach infestation, and maintenance's inability/refusal to do anything about it. 2) Drawers, shelves, appliances in the kitchen were literally falling apart. Again maintenance was unable/unwilling to help us with this (without charging a hefty fee of course). 3) No glass recycling. You want to recycle your glass? You'll have to store it in your apartment and drive it downtown to be recycled. 4) Rude, catty, passive-aggressive staff. Their whole attitude was snippy, suspicious and superior, even when approached for mundane requests. I wouldn't say they were accomodating and approachable for anything. This would become a bigger problem as we stayed, and even more so after we left. During our time there, asking them to do ANYTHING was a chore in and of itself, and they were extremely petty and condescending throughout. 5) Nickle and dimed us after we left for normal wear-and-tear and for things they were replacing anyway. The stove and the carpet were to be replaced after we left, but that didn't stop them from charging us over $200 to replace them after we left. They also charged us for the month AFTER we left even though we told them in writing we'd be out before then. their reason? We didn't trun our keys in. Do they not have master keys? this is the first time I've experienced this out of all the places I've lived in in Austin. This added up to another $200 (including the ""late fees"" they charged us. Hahahahahaha). 6) No parking. Better hope your neighbors don't have guests. If they do, you won't be able to find parking. 7) No security. No gate. No fence. No patrols. Nothing. There were multiple break-ins during our time there. Management did nothing. 8) Paper-thin walls. We could hear our neighbors sneeze (literally). If they want to watch TV or listen to music, you will hear all of it. 9) Grounds. Waste of water. Waste of paint. Waste of gardening services. Roots problems with the place remian untreated, but hey, at least the apartment has been painted a new color. The phrase ""lipstick on a pig"" comes to mind. 10) Petty rules about what is aloud on your porch. No grills. No sunscreens. No nothing. Mind you, most of these patios are hidden by bushes, so people from the street can't see what you have up there. Management must do regular patrols during their workhours to make note of what you are keeping on your porch. 11) Laundry room. The machines were notorious for stealing your money and not doing a damn thing, so management replaced them. Under the new set-up, washing your clothes there was inmpossible when the office was closed because you needed to put money on your card there. I have been a renter for over 16 years now, and have stayed in some real stinkers. We were at Woodmoor for 5 years, mostly due to it's location. That said, it is the WORST place we have stayed in, and I would not recommend it to anyone. Unless they like living with r0aches and being treated like mentally-handicapped children by the staff. Pros: location Cons: See below. Too many to list. more

BAD MANEGMENT-HORRIBLE MAINTENANCE 7/14/2008

I recommend that you not rent here!!! They over charge and Honestly the apartments are in Horrible shape. They don't have any care for current residents nor their well being or happiness. Broken A/Cs, bad insulation, horible attitudes, and talk down to you when they know you are right. There are better Apartments, So I Beg you to look around, don't put yourself through this expensive BS when it is not at all worth it! Good Luck with the Apt. Hunt Pros: Nothing Cons: EVERYTHING more

Bad staff, average apartments, weak location 12/19/2006

This is one of Corporate America's many Megaplex offerings. And as most do it falls short in just about all arenas. Their staff are cold and plastic and only care about your rent check not you. And lets not forget you are in a stones throw of a Golden Corral.. oh how homey! Great location? i can think of better.. Staff? horrrible.. apartments.. OK but pricey for what they have to offer. Bottom Line: You can find something better, so please do. more

Water! 5/20/2002

I lived here for a year and moved away due to a very serious issue. I loved the location, though. The problem was the main water drainage lines had to be replaced for the entire complex. In order to fix it, they had to cut everyone's water from 9-5 everyday. I counted the accumulative number of days it took to fix and it was about 3 months. I'm not exaggerating. I was never offered a discount. I was given notices (often one-day in advance of shut off) saying basically deal with it. When I moved, they charged me $200 for cleaning and I told them that I cut them slack on the water and they should pay in kind for my cleaning, but they didn't. The pool is lame, but the laundry room is good. There are better places that take dogs, charge less and care about residents. more
