Love my new house, great people in Mount Juliet 9/9/2007

I had the opportunity to build a new Wood Group home in Mount Juliet about 16 months ago. Building the house was a positive experience for me and as promised, was completed in about four months. At closing I had a walk-through of the house and had a chance to point out items I wanted to be addressed before closing. At closing, I was given a list of utility contacts to assist in turning on water, gas, etc. During the one-year warranty after I closed on the house, I had a problem with the A/C unit. I used a repair service call list, given to me by the builder at closing, to promptly get the repair done at no cost to me. I found the owner and staff of Wood Group to be very organized during the entire process. They were also extremely helpful as I picked out a house plan, and made so many decisions necessary to complete the house. I'll definitely use Wood Group to build my next house! Pros: Quite neighborhood, good neighbors, great walking trail, close to shopping more

Not so impressed 3/12/2007

We bought one of the Wood Group's Homes for my mother to live in and so far we've not been too impressed. First of all, the walk-through and getting things fixed before we actually closed on the house was a nightmare. There was a laundry list of details that needed to be addressed, some important like the uneven paint, carpet not stretched out to the corners, etc. There was no follow-through on the 1 year home warantee. A good builder should have Customer Service that goes around about 6 months out to ask about how the home is doing and if there any problems to address and then again just before the warantee expires. There was no contact from the builder. Even when my mother moved in, the builder was unaware of people she should call to set up services like water, electric, etc. I just got the feeling that the builder could care less about us. We've also had numerous drainage problems because the yards of the houses were not graded correctly in our neighborhood so the backyard floods any time it rains. I would be skeptical. I don't plan on buying another home from this builder EVER! Pros: Nice neighborhood, quiet Cons: House had alot of details left off, poor materials, flooding due to inadequate grating more
