Great spot for lunch 5/24/2006

This is a great restaurant for lunch as long as you have the time (you won't get out in less than 45 minutes...at least I never have). Great salads, crabcakes, soups and desserts! You will really want a sundae here (we used to come here for work birthdays when I worked on 39th Street). I haven't been here in the evening, but I think they keep the bar open for happy hour. more

    The dark wood paneling, gilded ceiling and 44-foot curved bar give the space a lofty air that belies Windfall's genial atmosphere. The after-work crowd enjoys 25 different kinds of beers (10 on tap), generous flavored martinis and plenty of camaraderie. Plasma screens play whatever's local or requested. Windfall opens for lunch with what might be called Nouvelle Southern cuisine. Items include black-bean crabcakes or a mango-pineapple BBQ duck wrap.
