Good prices but a very dirty store, it needs remodeled badly! Some of the cashiers are very friendly but if you go to the self check out watch out the lady there is a Witch!! and so rude!! I keep shopping there for the prices, more

The 82nd ave location's administrative staff are horrible (The secretary excluded)! I worked as a checker for the 82nd Ave, Portlan OR location, the graveyard shift. It was very tough, especially being 82nd avenue with all the weirdos coming in there every night. One morning I was totally exhausted and my lunch break was at 5am or so. Another checker took over as usual (We'll call him Jeff), and a line formed while I was getting my bagel at the bulk section of the bakery. I (stupidly) decided to go ahead and eat the $0.33 bagel and I paid for it a few weeks later by having the checker charge me for an additional bagel when I only had one in hand. I paid for it with the checker named Jeff. Mind you all bagels are thrown out each morning and replaced with fresh bagels. So I grabbed a bagel that was about to be thrown in the trash compactor. Well, apparently the administrative staff reviewed the surveillance video and some how came across that I paid for a bagel without paying. They fired me despite me telling them that all they had to do is to interview Jeff and he would tell them that I charged an extra bagel one day when I only had 1 in my hand. I also had a receipt but didn't have it on me. The 'firing staff' that they hired were rude and tried to make me think that I was some kind of criminal! I was fired but luckily the assistant manager let me continue to shop there (I wouldn't be trespassed). Don't work for this place. I saw day-time staff come in in the morning when they are buying some breakfast, with stress on their faces. I saw night time shelf stockers who didn't have much to look forward to except to try their best to meet the quarterly quota of the store. Stay in school like I did and become a Computer Engineer! Other locations of Winco foods I've heard are much better. The 82nd avenue location is one of the craziest locations out there. Perhaps the senior management at other locations are more personable than this one and the workload might not be as hecktic. more

The assistant manager is white and the manager is black, both names Steve. after filling out my application, he told me he wanted me to work for him, so he gave me a interview and told me to come back. so I showed, ditched school at CCC to be there, he asked if i had a criminal and i told him yes. I had one misdemenor, for talkin to a hooker in 95. so he ran myback ground and it turns out there was a type o and it got put in twice, now i was neever charged and released. so on my last interview this bald black S.O.B tells me that i cant work for safeway and winco and to quit, so i did, then he comes at me like i lied about the second charge of talking to a prostit tute, he made it out like i lied to him on purpose and i knew it was going to come up on the background check, any way he said he would call me and i got a letter today in the mail saying that they went with someone else, now that is messed up... maybe he shoudl go home get his balls out of his wifes purse and be a freakin man about it, anyway be a man black steve, no he tells the secretary to write me a letter, this fool is chicken shit, just another gray gum in, and takes it to his head, im having all my tweeker greed was his answere, this guy is a loser, all i needed was some hours for graveyard so i can finish school and get on with my lab tech job, but its been hard finding work , most want the unemployed loser to work here, i have middle to high grades,,, so dont shop winco, this place suck big donkey balls,,,, steve you monkey grow a set Pros: prices are ok, they beat freddys Cons: they dont hire fairly more
