He knows exactly what he's doing, what looks better for you than what you would expect, you can TOTALLY trust his opinion, expertise and talent. I've been having Sue cut and color my hair for at least 10 years. I've never been disappointed. Always get compliments on my cut, and no one believes my hair is colored because it looks so natural. It's so soft when I leave the salon, and it grows out really nicely. Sometimes when it's time for a cut, I don't even want to cut it because it still looks good. Sue is really, really good. And the head and neck massage are so nice. Whatever the products they use, my hair is never damaged and is in great shape. With all of the choices out there, Wicked Salon is one of the best and so easy to find - a short walk from BART and right downtown SF. Try it out, you will not be disappointed. more

I came here with no expectations after having my hair butchered at other salons around the city. If I find a good stylist I will return... But, when I found the Best stylist... well, I drive the distance to see her!!! \r Vicky is, to say the least, amazing. I don't think I have ever had so many compliments after only one visit, from family, friends and even people out in the streets.\r She helped me understand what the other stylist had done to my hair and why I wasn't getting the results I wanted. \r She is the only stylist who took the time to listen and help me understand how to keep my hair looking healthy and how to get more body in this hair of mine that once looked tragic. \r more

I'm very particular about my hair, since it's fine and color-processed. I went to see Vicky based on my friend's rave recommendation and I couldn't be happier with my decision! Vicky seemed super nice and humble (as you know, a lot of stylist can be snobbish), and she was conservative in terms of not wanting my hair to go too light being that I am asian, which I really appreciated. The color and highlights turned out great and I will be back in a month to touch it up. \r \r She did an amazing job with my haircut, as I decided to cut my 8 years of long hair to an a- line bob. I have never cut more than 2.5 inches, but I trusted Vicky to give me a transformation. There goes 6 inches of my hair and I love it! Sue Ko...thank you! A few years back I was looking for a new stylist and with the assistance of yelp reviews found Sue. She is incredibly talented and I completely trust her to make the best hair decisions for me. Her cuts are always precise and grow out so well. Every 7 weeks, when I leave her chair, I feel like a new woman! The salon is beautiful, the staff is always so friendly and professional. A head massage during the shampoo is always a treat. I recently saw wicked on groupon, and bought the coupon on a whim. I had to wait two weeks to get an appointment, and it was well worth the wait. My stylist Jeremy was fantastic, easy to talk to, not pushy at all. He designed the perfect haircut for my face and lifestyle. The layers around my face took years off. Can't wait to go back and get those highlights. more

It's pretty apparent that most of these so called ""reviews"" are self written by the Wicked staff..How pathetic.Unprofessional and unfriendly stylists,especially Sue. Uncomfortable atmosphere(nowhere to sit and relax), Had the worst experience of my life at this salon, in more ways than one.Never again. There are plenty of hip 'n cool salons here the City,if you are in need.I highly recommend The Barber Lounge,Cinta salon,G-Squared & Mike Page Style Lab. Seriously,get it together folks @ Wicked.. I have horrible, thin, gray hair. Su performed a true miracle, giving me a sexie, contemporary cut that has me getting unsolicited compliments on the BART, work and at the grocery store. First of all, Thank God and Google I have found Vicky. I read these reviews and I made an appointment to see with my own eyes what all the fuss is about. Well.........I am still in shock!!! I have never had these incredible golden blonde highlights and haircut in my entire life. She transformed my hair from damaged and dry to healthy and amazing!! I recently visited SFO from my small town in Iowa. I had overtreated hair, washed out color, and was horribly in need of a good stylist. I found her!! Vicky did wonders with my color, and suggested shampoo/conditioner that has brought my hair back to life!! I walked in an over processed blond. My hair was brittle, my ends were dry. Vicky looked at my hair and said, ""you will be beautiful as a brunette. "" Funny, I was thinking of doing that. We talked extensively about my desire for a rich, flattering brown that was not mousy or ashy. I trusted her and walked out of the salon with the most gorgeous, healthy looking chestnut and highlight I had ever seen. I am so sad, I am moving away from San Francisco. I have been seeing Vicky for the past 5 years. She is the first one that is able to work with my thick, and wavy hair. She taught me to embrace my thick hair, rather than fighting with it. I also love the subtle caramel highlights she adds in my hair. I finally feel I love my hair. Vicky, one of the owner of wicked salon is truly a magician with color and cut. I have been transformed from blonde to brown, and back again to my natural blonde. I recently went to wicked salon and was instantly impressed. The minute i walked in i felt comfortable and at home. The staff was super friendly and helpful. My appointment with Michael. He recently just moved here from Washington D.C. I felt confident in him from the very minute we met. He is so sweet!!! The proprietors, Su and Vicki are both dedicated to their profession and genuine artists. In an understated way way, they listen and then create a work of art with your appearance. The key however is their ability to use restraint, ie take you to the edge, but not over, for a great new look that you are immediately comfortable with.\r \r You will become a regular customer after your first visit. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new hair cut and color. I was referred to Sue,co owner of Wicked Salon, by my friend, who promised me that I will not be disappointed with the result. Boy, was my friend correct!!! I left Wicked looking 10 years younger. \r \r I was hesitant about getting my hair colored because I have seen many of my friends who have gotten theirs done, and the color never looks natural. In addition, my hair has been permed many times, so it's brittle and dry. I am so glad that I didn't give into my hesitation. Sue_picked the perfect color that suits my age and my skin tone. She also cut and brushed out my perms, which gave me a softer look. I was ELATED when I left the salon. My first hair dye job turned out to be a perfect 10!!! I just recently got some highlights for my hair & it was what I had pictured! Sueis a great hairstylist & a great person! I've researching for salons for a while & this one was worth going to. Maybe my standards are just really high, but I moved here from New York and tried this salon and I was none too pleased. They had Nikas Nikas for a while, who has a good reputation as a colorist in SF, but my color with him was only pretty good (needed some more dimension and shades), it too like 4 hours and tons of processing at the sink and dryer, and he was not the most stable character. The girls at the salon were hot and cold - friendly one day, rude the next time. The atmosphere is only ok. Kind of trendy, but plain. They don't seem that driven to be great or to improve. Moreover, after my appointment, I noticed that my usually fine, silky hair seemed coarser and totally dried out. I later found out that apparently this place was substituting one of the high end products for base adjustments (maybe $15 a bottle) for cheap China town stuff ($3 a bottle) and putting the cheap China town stuff in the brand name bottle, so the colorists didn't even know. I'll pay the extra $12 myself, thanks. If they are serious about being the best (and it doesn't seem like they are), they're going to have to step it up a lot. I since have found Hugh McGuire at Ron Pernell Studio and he is truly phenomenal. If you want the very best hair SF can offer, go to him. more

I have been following Vanessa for the past 10 years from Architects and Heroes, Red Chair, and now at Wicked. Vanessa truly is an artist with hair color. I have been blonde, red, brown. You could say I am bit of a camilion with hair color. She is always honest about which shade of color suits me the best. My hair always look silky and luminous. Vanessa, you have a client for life.
