I went here randomly to get reflexology. What I got was a glorified foot rub. In fact, I think the Mexican that does my 17 dollar pedicure massages my feet better then this guy. T...

My day at Why Not 8/23/2008

I had a day off and want to pamper myself, was recommended to Why Not from a friend. It was wonderful, they serviced me with Green Tea with Honey. I got Manicure and Pedicure and Body Scrub. It was peaceful. I love the Yonka product they put in the bathtub. \r \r I highly recommend. more

Good Value 8/21/2008

I am not a huge Spa person, but I like to go to different spa and treat myself once a month. I wouldn't say they are the best of all spa, but they are definitely one of my top 3. They have shower in all of their massage rooms, and the massage was excellent.\r \r Would definitely go back to visit more

1 of the BEST 8/16/2008

A few friends and I have been loyal customers to Why Not Men Spa for almost a year now. They offer the most theraputic massages, and the enviorment is very friendly. And Guys, ask for Alan's special eyebrow shaping. This is a off the menu special, it usually cost a bit more, but it worth every cents. He shapes the eyebrows according to your face structure. It is amazing.\r \r Congradulation on your 2nd location at Chelsea.\r \r - Josh D. more

Great professional service and courteous staff 8/10/2008

I have been using the services of this spa for nearly a year and am very pleased. All of the staff are professional and courteous. The pedicures, manicures and massages are terrific. You won't be disappointed. Pros: The envionment is very pleasant and lends itself to relaxation more

need i say more? unprofessional service, the guy was making me feel awkward first and last time f0r me Cons: service more

they are awesome...that's why 7/21/2008

I don't know what happened with the last review but have not encountered any of the same problems and have been a client for some time now. \r \r George as well used to wax me and charged less than normal even though he did one easy ""peach fuzz""., strip on my back. Maybe that's why he isn't there anymore. i can't expect the other waxers to break the rules They work on commission and need to get paid in these times too. So I pay the few extra dollars and deal with it. \r Chris always does my manicure and pedicure. He rocks. Takes his time and they look great. Brian or Troy do my massages and have always been amazing and professional. I've gotten at least 40 massages here over the years and I can't imagine anyone trying to do a ""happy ending"" here. Not that kind of place. \r \r I do although agree with the previous reviews about the downstairs massage rooms. They are not very private. I found that I can request a room upstairs with an actual door. The place is always clean. The manager is always eager to please. \r \r Overall, I have not had anything but good experiences here. I couldn't recommend this place more. Pros: open late. Relxing place Cons: high turn over on staff more

My New Favorite Place in NYC 6/16/2008

I go to New York quite often on business trip. Why Not Men Spa at Chelsea was introduced by one of my clients. The spa was beautiful and relaxing. The staffs were professional and friendly. I got the most relaxing massage ever. I would definitely go back there next time when I am in town, and I would recommend anyone to give this elegant spa a try in the hectic city. more

True Facial!! 5/20/2008

I am a skin care junkie! So, trust me on this...\r \r Sammy (or Sammi, sorry I dunno how to spell your name), you rock!!! Thank you so much! The minute she started talking, I know this little lady is for real. She knows exactly what was going on with my skin, and gave me the MOST thorough cleansing ever (Seriously, no other can do wat she did). I am going back in 3 weeks for my Diamond Peel.\r \r If you are srious about your skin and looking to get a true facial, go to Why Not and ask for Sammy. Worth every penny!\r \r If you are just looking for a cheap, wateva so called ""facial"", like some other folks here... really, go to Chinatown.\r \r Thank you Why Not!!\r more

Best in NYC! 5/20/2008

Amazing Massage!\r I think it was called SuiNa or TuiNa... anyway, its asian. It was the first time I have ever had it. \r All I know is that I went in with a stiff shoulder, and I walked out feeling I just shed a hundred pound.\r Best in NYC!\r \r THANK YOU SO MUCH!! more

So-so massage but pushy employees 2/27/2008

Last weekend was my first time at Why Not spa. I went with a friend and we both had a message and facial. My massage was good but my friend had a different therapist and complained that it was very gentle. Also the message rooms are really just curtained off parts of the basement and my friend saw a ro ach on the ceiling during his massage. My therapist told me that I should separate out his tip from the facialist, I guess so that they wouldn't have to fight over how to split it. But when I paid at the counter he was hovering behind the counter and watching what I wrote on the credit card slip. It was very unprofessional and rude. As for the facial...from the moment I sat down she was pointing out all the flaws on my skin and telling me all the things I should have done but were not included in the basic package. She could of course add them on for a fee and she had a whole fee schedule worked out. She pointed out 4 blemishes on my skin: one would cost $40 to extract, another was $20 and the remaining ones $10 each. A peel is another $30 and extracting on the forehead of cheeks was extra. She kept up her spiel for quite a while. I'm probably an idiot but I spent almost twice as much as I had intended. It turned out to be a very expensive treat. I had signed up for one of their ""packages"" because I thought it was a better deal but instead I was sold a litany of add-ons and left the spa less relaxed than when I entered. I will not be back. Pros: quiet, convenient location Cons: pushy employees, dirty more

Amazing Couples Body Scrub 1/20/2008

My partner and I experienced a lovely afternoon at Why Not Men's Spa this past Saturday. The staff was super friendly and very professional. We did the couples treatment - including manicure, pedicure, facial and the relaxing, romantic body treatment. The soaking, srubbing and rub down were all wonderful and just what we needed on a chilly day. Definitely will return. more

Happy Faces After Hydration and Abrasion 8/7/2007

You'll be one of many happy faces after getting a refreshing, rejuvenating facial at Why Not Men's Spa. This was my first experience and, after a month of visits, mold-like dark spots have been removed from my face. Hydration therapy and microderm abrasion are performed in relaxing comfort, and your consultation is completely confidential. A little costly, but well worth the expense. Ask for Sami to work her magic on your happy face. Pros: Designed to pamper a man's needs more

best massage 7/31/2007

I went to this spa last week and it was a great experience. My massage therapist was named Michael and he was the best i've had in the city. He was completely professional and friendly and did a great job on me. I would highly recommended this place to those men who love to pamper themselves. and ask for Michael!!! more

Great men's spa 5/11/2007

I booked an appointment for my hubby because he was so stressed out. I signed up for body scrub, massage, and reflexology. He loved the scrub and reflexology, but the massage was not perfect. I think the reason is that we have been consistently going to another massage place for 2 years now, and nothing compares with that. Other than that, the services were excellent, staff pleasant, and ambience good. I will definitely book him for scrub and reflexology again, and highly recommend this place. Pros: Good services, ambience, friendly staff more

""After a long, stressful day I felt like I was in heaven after having the ""Why Not"" Experience 3/31/2007

Lets see after having my girlfriend dump me, and my cat dying on me I was in a foul mood to say the least. However unexpectedly after coming into the store accidently I had a glorious experience. I proceeded to get a manicure, pedicure, facial and a 90 minute massage. I have to say my hands and feet never felt better/cleaner. And all my worries, anger slowly dissapated underneath the wonderful massage that I recieved. I then proceeded to get a facial by ""Sammy"" and I had to say it felt great and non-invasive. After finishing the process I can say categorically that my face truely felt ""clean"" for the 1st time in my life. I have to say that I wholeheartedly recommend this spa to family and friends. Bascially anyone who wants to be pampered, catered to, and/or to feel a little bit special. If everyone in NYC went to Why Not Men's Spa NY would be a nicer place. A+++ Pros: Everything Cons: That I can't live there more

The best place for a man to go to escape!! 3/29/2007

Last week I found this mens spa on citysearch, I didnt even know there were spas that catered to just men. I figured I would give it a shot. The owners Brandon and Alan were extremely courteous and inviting. I got my eyebrows waxed and manicure/pedicure. It was so relaxing that I got a massage as well. I thought these treatments would cost me an arm and a leg based on what my girl spends whenever she gets these treatments done, but it didnt burn a deep whole in the pocket. I would definately recommend any guy wanting to escape, relax and come out of it feeling rejuvenated to try this place and judge for yourself. Pros: Staff Service, Milk used to soak hands for manicure, Massage Cons: Didnt get to try everything at one time more

Best massage 3/26/2007

I just moved to New York, and I tried some spa in the city. First at all, I felt uncomfortable walked into spa that all of the women look at me strangely; second, the service is not realy met the sky-high price. Then I find the Why Not Men Spa in the city search, I gave them a try...... Now I really really loved this place, the staffs are so friendly and had done nice job on me. So far I had my facial, massage, and nails done here, I loved them all. They even used warm milk to soak my hand with Manicure. I highly recommended this place to those men who love to pamper themselves. more
