Wedding Reception 3/13/2009

We had our children's wedding reception there on the 21st of February, 2009. We started working with the people in June, and anytime I called they immediately returned my call. My children got married the week before in Jamaica and the staff really went above and beyond to decorate the tables with the beach theme items I provided, plus they had alot of things I didn't have to purchase that they provide. The alcohol prices are reasonable, and everyone who attended had nothing but good things to say about the food. I would recommend this place to anyone that is on a budget. Also there's an excellent DJ named Lamont Williams that I would recommend as well, and he lives nearby. He can be located via email @ lamontwilliams9569@yahoocom, he has dejayed at this location numerous times. Pros: Reasonable cost Cons: Could use some updating more

Service unsatisfactory, whole experience unsatisfactory 5/29/2008

My husbands daughter had her wedding reception there 5/17/2008. There were several issues I had over the course of the evening. First being that I, kept having to search down someone to refill water and teaclasses. The wait staff, was gathered and visiting by the restrooms and not really attentive to the guests. I have to inform the wait staff to refill the beverage fountain, just before the cake's were being cut as it was completely empty, again the staff was gathered around the restrooms, just visiting with each other, and not checking on things like that. We paid the additional $35.00 to have the cake cut and our DJ had to assist that person in cutting the cake as they had never cut a cake before. The brides mother and myself met seperately and paid seperately, both of us were told by the owner/manager that any additional food left over will be sent home with us, as we purchsed 20-25 more plates than we had RSVP guests for. After everyone had eaten, I fixed the photographer, a ""friend"" of mine a plate and there was quite a bit of hot plate food and sandwiches left over. We were first told that nothing was left over, we were then given our remaining fruit & vegatables, and one item of the hot plate food, and the manager informed me ""it was in the contract"" Well read that carefully, as the only thing I saw pertaining to the food was alcohol service. Our cost was so much for the reception area that night & approx $20.00 per person for catering plus Tax & 20% gratuity and honestly I've received much better service from McDonalds! I also attend a lot of catered corporate functions and having that exposure I was very disapointed in the service and misrepresentation. I will never recommend nor arrange another function there, do not care how much less it is than other facilities Pros: Nice table linens Cons: Everything else, more

Bad Customer Service 5/12/2008

My wife and I attended a wedding reception on April 19th, 2008. I overall service was less than acceptable.\r There was a shortage of staff supplied based on guest and the average number of servers per guest.\r In addition, the dishes, silverware and glasses were not cleaned. It was further brought to my attention that one of the principles became very rude in with the host of the wedding. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this facility. Pros: Ambience Cons: Staff, Service more

Extremely rude bar staff! Threats to call police! 12/29/2007

I went to my uncle's wedding at this place Dec 2007. My mom was becoming intoxicated and while she was near the bar, I took a drink out of her hand, placed it back on the bar (a little bit spilled, but I did by no means slam it down), and told her she needed to stop drinking. The music in the room was very loud and my ears were ringing, so I was having to yell over it. The woman behind the bar said I needed to take it outside, and I turned to her and asked her (again, yelling OVER THE MUSIC and not screaming at her) whether it was their policy to serve intoxicated persons. She then proceeded to tell me we (ie she and I) needed to speak outside and I refused, saying I didn't work for her and didn't have to. She then walked over to my AUNT (the bride) and tattled on me! She threatened to call the police when I asked her what her problem was. I asked to see her manager and she said quite rudely, ""I AM THE BOSS!"" She then told me I had to leave or she was going to call the police. I said, all this because you won't cut off a drunk person? She then talked to my aunt and came back to me, saying that she had talked to the bartender and they would cut my mom off but ""one more outburst and I'll call the police!"" Again let me emphasize that if I was yelling, it was only over the music. I was rude to her, but rudeness is not worth calling the cops! (If anything, she would have gotten cited for serving intoxicated people!) I was not drunk. If she had simply taken the drink back and talked to me about my mother's intoxication, there would have been no problem. Instead, she threatened to call the police. UNBELIEVABLE. I could not believe how rude she was - threatening me when I did NOTHING WRONG. Do not go to this place! Pros: pretty atmosphere Cons: evil woman manages the bar staff, threatens to call cops if you ask to have a drunk person cut off more
