You must get the market plate! Over 20 vegetarian small plate options that rivals any vegetarian restaurant. I used to just go here for brunch, but now I will only get the market plate. I love the bok choy, brussel sprouts, collard greens, cauliflower, sweet potato fries. The list goes on and on. Small price to pay for some of the best veggie options around. Grab a friend and get eating! more

Westville in the East Vill 4/22/2010

Why o why can't these places be on the Upper East Side! I love this place. Went for a drink on Ave A recently and saw the crowd gathered outside the Westville so had to see what all the buzz was about. We waited for about 15 minutes and then were seated in the cozy restaurant. We ordered shakes, hot dogs and hamburgers. Comfort food at its best. The hot dogs and fries were well done as requested and delicious. It also came with a market side, we selected beets and goat cheese. Oddly, the beets were heated up to the point of steaming once they arrived which made for a weird texture. But then our burger arrived and all was forgiven. It was deliciousness on an english muffin. We were too full for dessert despite how great it all looked! Definitely going back for seconds.Great! Pros: shakes, comfort food more

What happened to the fries?!?! 8/9/2009

I have been a loyal patron of Westville for years because of their amazing turkey burger --all white meat, and served on a portuguese muffin. I have the hardest time finding a place that has an awesome burger and fries...and it seems I've lost the one restaurant that had both. I don't want to be dramatic, but I'm Irish, and there are few potatoes that I will snub. These new coated fries have lost big points with me and my circle of friends. Please bring the old fries back! My Go-To 11/5/2008

I get Westville anytime I want to eat out but don't want to do an expensive shi-shi dinner. It is super cheap and DELICIOUS. Brunch, lunch or dinner, they are all good. I actually regret wanting to add to the hype because its already over crowded for being such a cute tiny hole in the wall, but I usually just order in anyway. You can't go wrong with any of the burgers or mac 'n cheese. They also have some ""nicer"" dishes like the salmon or swordfish that are amazing. The veggies are delicious too! Good luck deciding what to get, thats the worst part of eating there. Pros: Delicious, Amazing music if you dine-in Cons: trying to decide what to order is tough, it all looks great more

I love that Westville has all these small plates you can put together - every time I go I get the mac and cheese (SO GOOD), and a bunch of vegetables. Sometimes the vegetables are amazing, and sometimes they aren't good. The bok choy is really good - but depending on the cook can be way too salty. Anyway, it's almost always delicious, and if one part isn't that great, it's only 4 bucks down the drain. Really, really small place. I like it - it's cute. You just have to be prepared to wait for a while... more

Can't say enough good about the burgers & chicken tenders 11/5/2007

One of the few places I can order a rare burger for delivery and it comes rare (try accomplishing that with BLT Burger for instance,) and at a fraction of the price of other neighborhood options. They also have an accomodatingly large delivery area...they'll deliver to me when places much closer to me (Stand, for instance,) won't. Eating in is uncomfortable, but the wait staff always does their best and are friendly even when harried. Wish the farmers market options were changed more often -- they also tend to be salty. But the artichokes are great. So is the mac and cheese. So are the chicken tenders with hot sauce and salad. I could eat these all day. Pros: Can order a burger rare for delivery and have it arrive at my house rare Cons: Eating in is uncomfortable, waits are endless at times more

""Small Town Feel"" destroyed by big attitude 5/30/2007

I called to order dinner and asked to add on fries for a dollar. The food arrived and when I called to ask why I was charged a $5.... the man...er beast ...that answered the phone told me I didn't order correctly. He then hung up me. Sadly, this individual is representing the restaurant. more

awesome mac & cheese 3/18/2007

Prob the best mac and cheese I've ever had. I did try the turkey burger but I wasn't wowed but I liked the Portuguese muffin it came on. For market sides we got: brussel sprouts (didn't care for), pesto mash potatoes (yummy), fennel parm (didn't care for), and mushrooms. I'd come back just for the mac and cheese and I'm still curious about trying all the other items on the menu, I think I just got the wrong thing. Pros: value, service more

Awesome Comfort Food 3/5/2007

I've been to Westville four times now and I will continue to go back. Specials are always delicous...if you're craving salmon they do a great job! Fish sandwich with homemade tartar sauce is a good go-to dish as well as the turkey burger, it's incredibly moist and served on the perfect little roll. Market plates are fresh and innovative too. Great food, and awesome prices. Pros: Freshness, Price, Service Cons: Small homey feel is great however the wait can get a little long. more
