It's a little fancier than most Austin restaurants (OK, that's not saying a lot), but still laid back. The food is delicious. It is a vegetarian restaurant, but a lot of us non-veggies go because the food is just that good. It's a delight to be able to get spicy Tex-Mex that's as good for you as it is tasteful. Oh, and if you're a chocolate lover, save room for dessert! more

meat eaters will like it too 8/26/2005

Tucked away in the Clarksville neighborhood, the West Lynn Cafe is a very nice lunch or dinner option for Vegetarians or meat-eaters. Very fresh vegetables and salads. I had a very good veggie burger and potatoes. Its a tiny bit fancy (white tablecloths and napkins) and quiet. So it would make a nice place for a date but not really a kid friendly atmosphere. Good prices for lunch and a little bit expensive for dinner. more

it's not just for the birds 8/23/2005

I was one of the "veggies are for horses" type. Dinner at West Lynn Cafe changed that. I now believe it's about "how veggies are cooked". The atmosphere is clean, laid back without being messy or shabby. The waitstaff is friendly and you leave with the satisfaction of knowing your organs won't be having a tough time the next few hours. The menu is very diverse, although I'd recommend the Italian inspired cuisine more than the tex-mex inspired. more
