Watel's has moved. It is now at 6047 Lewis Street. A group of friends, 6 of us, enjoyed a lovely dinner at Watel's. We have followed Chef Rene from several of his restaurants over the past 15 years or more. We love the food at Watel's and this newer location, another lovely place with great food. The foie gras was luscious, everyone loved their appetizers, their special salad with beets, cheese and nuts; and our main courses were great too. Great service, nice wine choices and the food....the food! more

Bad Service 11/1/2008

Some of the worse service I have ever had. On a Friday night there was only 1 other couple dining so the resturant was not busy at all. The waiter never smiled, greated us, and would often disappear. We both started out with Escargots which was fine. I had Beef Tenderloin that I ordered Medium Rare and it came out well done. I would have sent it back but the waiter left and didnt come back for at least 15 minutes. My companion had the swordfish which was OK but a little fishy tasting. I dont think it was very fresh. The bus woman seemed to be doing all of the work. Keeping water glasses filled and clearing plates and bring dishes out to us. Pros: cozy resturant Cons: Bad Service more

A Continental Experience 3/20/2005

Great food, elegant but relaxed atmosphere, very European. Attentive service. An excellent choice for small family celebrations (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.). Pros: very good food, nice atmosphere more
