Great sushi place, great neighborhood 5/30/2007

Wasabi has some of the most delicious sushi in Atlanta. I went there for dinner one night. I wasn't sure what to order. My date picked out one roll, I picked out another, and the waiter picked out the third. The waiter's suggestion, the Cherry Blossom, was a little different than we expected, but it turned out to be our favorite. The atmosphere at Wasabi is very chic, too. Kind of minimalist with all white furniture and some reddish-pink accents. The drink list was also very good and diverse. And the fact that it's in the hip neighborhood of Castleberry Hill only solidifies this as a great place to go. Pros: Good rolls, parking at sister restaurant No Mas Cantina, Ambience more

Neighborhood Sushi 1/29/2007

Wasabi is one of those sushi restaurants that anchors itself in a spotty neighborhood with barely any other restaurant competition. All that is changing in Castleberry Hill, but it's good that such a solid eatery found it's home there. Very trendy and minimal decor contrast the friendly service we were met with. We went with a friend of mine and his parents who live just a block away, so they're regulars. The rolls were pretty well made, and my friend is completely obsessed with their quail egg and wasabi roe nigiri. The only disappointment was the miso soup. I think if they got that right, the place would be perfect. I was a little apprehensive about the stools before sitting down, but they were really comfortable, and we spent at least an hour and a half at Wasabi. Good conversation and company, that's one way to make us want to come back for more. Pros: food, service more

Great neighborhood spot! 10/26/2006

This place is great! Some of the best sushi in Atlanta. Very fresh and innovative (try the wabi sabi, it's rolled inside of cucumber instead of rice.) My favorite cocktail is the cucumber infused Sake Sangria. However I would recommend going in on a Wednesday night when they offer 1/2 off bottles of wine, great deal! The space is intimate and has a trendy lounge feel but not pretentious. The staff is friendly and they even have a female sushi chef. more

Did you see that male server? 10/26/2006

My visit to Wasabi was uncomparable to any sushi house I have been to in Atlanta. Amazing sushi, good stiff cocktails and beutiful ambience. more

  • In Short
Sporting an ultra mod décor and a fish-only menu, this is exactly what a sushi spot in an industrial loft district should be. Stark white plastic tables and chairs and cherry red mono-color wall hangings are the dominating design schemes in the Castleberry shoebox. Matching the sleek, deco design the menu follows suit with a sushi-only selection. Don’t look for overly-sauced rolls or teriyaki chicken, this is miles from the Americanized Ru Sans. Of the nigiri offerings, hamachi (yellowtail snapper) is buttery and silken, and worth a second round. Along with the serious fish selections, whimsical rolls still get a douse of fun (bubble gum roll) without losing integrity. The sunset strip roll combines salmon, shrimp and spicy hamichi, while the standard tuna and eel rolls come out at perfect temperature.
