Wakefield Medical Care: Wagner Scott D MD

Dr. Wagner has been my primary care physician ever since I left my pediatrician. He has been nothing short of the bright light in the worst and most frustrating part of this dark and miserable world of healthcare. On occasion when traveling I have had the misfortune of requiring a physician's care and have suffered obtuse doctor's that do not show any form of interest in your wellness and hand you a prescription and leave. Although I am not poorly in my healthy, Dr. Wagner has seen me on short notice many times and his ability to analyze and problem solve is a primary factor in my continued interest in his care. His personality and direct honesty have been proven time and again to be exactly what I want in a doctor to tend to the needs of myself and my wife. I have recommended him to all of my friends and family; all who have met him have been thoroughly pleased and have no problem driving over an hour to be treated with respect and receive timely and accurate care. If you have had the privilege to be under his care and left his office not understanding the status of your health and happy that you visited, then I am a monkey's uncle. more

I have been a patient in this office since moving here a few years ago. I have only had positive experiences with the entire staff. The front desk is courteous, and i highly recommend Dr Wagner and his PA Jennifer. They are very caring and knowledgeable. I recommend them to all my friends and everyone thanks me later. more

Today was my first and last appointment. I waited a week to get into see Jenifer G as she came highly recommended. I arrived as requested (15 mins early), filled out forms and then waited and waited and waited. During my wait I heard the patient next door complaining about gaining 30 pounds and much more personal issues I won't go into. Also heard 2 women gossiping about their husbands or boyfriends and another patient hacking up a lung all while waiting in the my exam room. After 45 mins I got up and walked out. I don't know the quality of the care as I never saw the doctor. If I can make a recommendation, go to Rex...it is worth the extra costs and hassle. I'll pay for quality care and a staff who respects your time. more

I am a OB/GYN nurse with a husband who is a diabetic. After moving to an area outside of Wake Forest, we needed a new primary care physician. After researching the physicians in the area, we chose Dr. Scott Wagner at Wakefield Medical Care. This was the poorest decision we've made in a long time. My husband wears an Insulin pump. This doctor lead us to believe that he could manage my husband's Diabetes. Two weeks later, when my husband needed a refill on his Insulin, Wagner's office advised him to see an Endocrinologist. It takes at least 3 months to get an Endocrinology appointment. Dr. Wagner was not willing to even give my husband enough Insulin to last until he could get an Endocrinology appointment! We had to go to Fast Med Urgent Care to get a life saving Rx for Insulin! A primary care physician that doesn't manage Diabetes?? How useless is that!! We will not be going back to him. more
