Discusting 6/22/2014

was the worse possible experience ever! not informative about my dogs medications or the plan of action. The receptionist is absolutely rude and on her phone in front of clients. Place smells horrible even for a place for pets. Never would I ever recommend to any one ever!!! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 6/21/2014

Just overall a horrible experience. First of all the smell is awful and reception is extremely rude! I brought my dog in on a Saturday because of coughing, waited an hour and a half to see the doctor. Turns out she had heartworms. The meds we were given were not explained so my dog vomited for days after the visit because we were suppose to feed 1 hour before or after feeding and that was not discussed! didn't find that out til I took to another doctor. Unless it is general, DO NOT GO THERE!!! more

Treated horribly by the front desk help. 5/16/2014

I brought my dog in because he was limping and unable to put any pressure on his back leg. He was in a lot of pain and the receptionist at the front desk was very rude and ignored me and my husband and dog while she talked on her cell phone. After she hung up on her cell phone a rescue lady came in and rather than wait on us she spent 25 minutes chatting with this woman. I have hear nothing but good things from my friends about Dr. Grist but I do not want to return to this office due to the way I was treated...basically like I was a nuisance. This business will suffer as long as you continue to employ rude and incompetent people in the front. more

Awful Service 3/5/2013

I have been a client of this clinic for over 6 years and spent a lot of money there with all my pets. Last week my daughter took our cocker spaniel for a checkup and after she came back home she begged me not to take our dog to that place any more. \r The veterinarian that was suppose to take care of my dog was rude and kept on calling my dog Chuy by a different name what made me believe she did not even care which dogs was she working with. Then according to my kid, the assistant told her that she had felt a swelling on my dog’s chest and she refused to check Chuy because he was “too furry” and begun to poke him with the needle several times trying to draw blood and told my kid that next time we need to “shave” our dog before the checkup.\r They charged us almost $150.00 just to maltreatment our dog and had my daughter feeling guilty for taking him to be abused. \r I will never, ever take any of my pets to that place again and I’ll be telling every person I know about the more

Highly Upset Dog Owner - NOT REPUTABLE 5/15/2012

When a business advertises a policy of "we honor online pricing" for flea and heartworm monthly meds, with no exceptions noted, then that business should honor that policy. Past visits here were satisfactory, with every receipt containing the sentence "We honor online pricing. We want your business". Recently, I visited this office with a printed out final cost for Revolution, to receive the online discounted price (to give them MY BUSINESS) and was told they would not honor this company's prices, but had ONLY 1 online business they would match. When I ordered from my online company, I was asked for a Vets name, as a reference. THIS OFFICE denied the reference, saying they would not authorize online purchases, but WOULD sell me the item I needed. The Better Business Bureau should shut them down, for false advertising. - this lady is ready to drive us nuts with this cat 1/7/2011

What a horrible experience with a veterinarian. We took our family cat to Dr. Marily Grist, Wade Hampton Veterinary Clinic at 2412 Wade Hampton Blvd in Greenville, SC on August 30, 2010 to get him declawed. On 9/1/10 we contacted the office because the cat would not eat, drink or use the litter box. We contacted the office on 9/16/10 because the cat was still limping. We contacted the office again on 11/18/10 because his right paw was bleeding. We contacted the office again 12/28/10 because the cat is still limping and wanted to know what could be done. The office suggested expensive xrays at our cost. I informed the doctor that our cat didn't have this problem prior to being declawed and that I was not going to pay for xrays. We took our cat in one last time on 1/4/11 and Dr. Grist was very rude. She did an xray on the front paws and was sending the information out to be read. This is what the letter from PetRays said about me in the dr's notes. "1/4/11 Xrays L & R at OUR C more

Uncaring, Rude and Dirty 8/28/2010

I had taken my dogs to this vet before and I forgot why I switched until today. The facility itself is nasty and we had an appt waited an hour and a half. I asked how much longer and the lady said "I will get there when I have time" We walked out and I am not impressed with their care either. I will never take my pets back there or to their mobile unit when there is another mobile unit that is cheaper. I will take my pets back to where we had been taking them before we moved. They are great, clean and caring...the complete opposite of this vet. more

DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC! 7/4/2010

On December 4, 2009, I took my beautiful kitty to get her groomed, with sedation to reduce the stress. I had some errands to run, and while doing so, I received a call from Dr. Grist that she had died. I was in absolute shock! She was only six years old, and this was just a routine grooming. When my husband and I arrived back at the vet's office, Dr. Grist told me that my kitty was in her carrier and they had administered a drug to relax her. Then she and Dr. Bradley heard her fall over. First of all that's impossible, as the carrier is a soft sided one with a pad on the bottom. I wanted an answer as to how this could have happened, and the only answer I ever received was, "Things like this just happen sometimes". Someone should have been with her and monitoring her vitals, such as heart rate and breathing!! The so-called business manager came in and made us sit at the computer and pick out an urn so we could have her cremated. Now get this; he made my husband go up front and PAY TH more

Good Job! 12/22/2009

This is a great place. I take my dogs here frequently and a lot of times I am not charged a vet visit. They are willing to work with people and know that everyone does not have a ton of money to spend on a pet. I would recommend them to anyone. It is not the most up to date vet office I have been to but they do give good treatment to my pets. more

Wade Hampton Pet Resort is Awesome! 8/28/2009

They are awesome. I don't understand any of the negative reviews. I have used them for a long time and never gotten anything but the best of care and concern. You can tell they love animals and it isn't just a job to them! more

Not Impressed 2/15/2008

I took my dog here because he had been sick for a day or two and they were close to my house. The inside seemed run down and the staff was rather unfriendly. I was told that the initial visit would be around $60. They kept tacking on expenses for various procedures. I eventually ended up paying around $200 just to find out my dog had worms. I would not recommend them. more

Highly DONOT recommend. 3/24/2006

I took my kitten there when he had an injured back paw. They were very unfriendly and I found the place to be somewhat rundown. Especially for the prices they charge. They gave us a diagnosis the first day after showing us the Xrays, and a date to come back to have the splint taken off. The next visit they had an ENTIRELY different Xray, saying the bone was BROKEN completely and that I'd need to come back in a week. Both times charging an examination fee, I was upset that there were new charges popping up and that the diagnosis were different. The veterinarian proceeded to tell me to 'get out', and instructed us to take our kitten (who had a splint that still needed to be removed) and get out of her office. She had no regard for my sweet kitten who still had a splint. I looked up further information on this vet she had been fined a few years back due to some incident of neglect with a dog. I would NEVER go back to this vet nor recommend her. more

One of the best vets in town 11/29/2005

I have been going to them for years and they give good service and are very good with animals. I would recommend it to anyone who has pets. You can feel your pet is safe in the hands of the staff there. As for other review I don't undersand why if another vet recommended surgery why they didn't get that vet to do the surgery he/she recommended. As for Wade Hampton Veterinary clinc they are very caring about their patients and only want what is best for them. I think they were very prudent not to operate on an animal without examining it first. more

Another place not to take your pets to 5/23/2005

I've tried this place one for a certain procedure. I was told no procedure would be done unless the pet is seen first for a $35 visit. Then it would be assesses by the vet. Now would that be necessary if the pet has already been assessed by another vet who suggested that the pet has the operation? Not a place to invest your money in your pet's health. more
