Vulcan Basement Waterproofing was recommended to me very highly by my next door neighbor and now I would not hesitate to recommend them highly to anyone. We had noticed some seepage in the basement in my mother's home that has wall to wall carpet. This is a common problem in our neighborhood. Similar water damage/prevention work was done with our neighbor 5 years ago and they haven't had a drop of moisture in their basement since so we decided to call Vulcan. We called the estimator and they said they would dig a trench, put in a perforated pipe, leading into a tank to pick up any outside moisture. The tank had a switch that puts a pump into a sewage line. They offered to have their own handyman or our own remove things off the walls before the work was to be done. We used their terrific handyman, and he disconnected anything on the walls and cleared the outside perimeter. Then they sent a 5 man crew to do the trench and put in the pipes, fill it with gravel and cement back and the work was done in about one and a half days. They did the work exactly as described and they squeezed us in a week earlier and gave us another 5 off the cost estimate. Great service and got the work done sooner rather than later. more

Vulcan Basement Waterproofing is equally professional before and after sales. They came out in advance to give me an estimate and tell me what to expect: the good, the bad and the ugly. They prepared me for the dirt, dust and debris. When they were installing the sump pump and the dust started flying my heart stopped, but they prepared me for that too. They put up plastic curtains and taped everything off to contain the mess. It was dirty while they were working, but clean when they left. They were very thorough and explained how to test the sump pump. Everything turned out fine. From gentle rains to a hurricane, everything has worked perfectly. We have had plenty of rain and opportunities for it to fail and/or not work properly. Hurricanes are unusual this far north, but when Hurricane Sandy came through the system performed flawlessly. Believe what their staff tell you, these are honest folks. They are true to their advertisements and their word, you can trust them. They explained the work process to me, what I could expect after, and everything happened exactly as they said. more

Half of my house is below ground so Vulcan Basement Waterproofing was only able to do 2 sides without digging up the house. But this difference that only two sides makes is remarkable. I have no dampness. There's a big difference in the atmosphere. I no longer need to use a dehumidifier. I did okay during Hurricane Sandy so I hope it remains that way. more
