Lack of Customer Service - Very Disappointed 6/6/2011

We recently purchased a shuffle board table, spa and had Viscount re-felt our pool table - over $8000 total. When our spa was delivered one of the valves wasn't working. I was told a service person would come take a look. After not hearing anything for a couple of days I called the store and was told the part was on order. Two weeks later I called to follow up and was told the part was still on back order. We purchased a spa that is made in Michigan thinking it would be easy to get parts/services. Our salesperson, Jeff, said just because the valve wasn't working was no reason to be upset, overall the tub was working. We finally called the manufacturer ourselves and found out the part was on the shelf and they had never received an order. They sent it to the store and someone came out to repair. Once the part was installed, he was ready to leave and when we asked him to turn on the spa to make sure it was fixed, we found out it was not and another part had to be ordered. A couple of weeks later we found a leak and this time we went straight to the manufacturer who gave us the name of their repair service. They came out within two days and repaired the leak ... and had to correct the repair Viscount did. In addition, when we ordered the shuffle board I wanted to purchase a bowling pin set they had on sale. I was told they were on back-order but I could pay up front to get the sale price and they would let me know when the shipment came in. This was on 3/16/2011 and to date, 6/6/2011, the bowling pins have still not come in. I have called to follow up every couple of weeks and keep getting the same story -"" they are due in this week"". I asked for a refund since it was taking so long but was told that since it was a' special order' they won't refund my money - remember this was not a special order, they were out of stock. They also said a book with instructions/shuffle board rules would come with the table. When it wasn't with the table, we were told that people in the store take them all the time so we could download the rules from the internet. If we can't get any satisfactory customer service after spending over $8000, I would hate to see what type of service other customers receive. I have told everyone I know not to purchase anything, not even pool/spa chemicals from Viscount. They do not deserve our hard-earned money. more

Excellent Experience 11/21/2010

I had an excellent experience with Viscount Pools, Clinton Twp. I purchased a pool this summer and was very impressed by the customer service and knowledge of the employees. Even the installation went smoother than I would have expected. The yard was picked up before they left and the pool looks great!!! more

agreed, no customer service 11/15/2010

i agree with littlemermaid. i bought a pool from them and i started having problems in about 3 months. once they had my money they didn't care and didn't want to help me. they don't have any filter parts at the store so they have to order them special and you will need to wait a month. and this is for warranty service. it seems like they just don't care once they have your money. more

No Customer Service 6/29/2008

This store made a lot of money off of me when I bought the pool but thats where the customer service ended. If you have a problem with the pool - good luck trying to get any help. When parts started going bad only after a couple months of the warranty ending I went back to the store for assistance. They ordred the part, which without my motor wouldn't run. I was told it would take about five days for the part to come in but it actually took three weeks while my pool sat there getting swamping looking. When I called to complain about the delay, I was told they have no control over it and if I wanted I could order it elsewhere. After the new part was put on, they told me it wasn't the part and I needed a brand new motor, this after only 3 years. The following summer I took the motor in to be fixed at another place and it was working fine. Nothing was wrong with the motor. When the pool was opened this year, it was dirty from the year before. I contacted Viscount and they gave me the number of the guy who services pools for them because they do not come out themselves. I set up an appointment and the guy never showed. I also left him several messages but received no return call. After a week and a half I called Viscount and they said they would personally call him and have him give me a call. When he did call me back he raised his voice and said how dare I call the store and ""bash"" him. He doesn't want to look bad to Viscount and that is where he gets his money from to feed his family. Well, there is no question about it, I will never do business with Viscount pools again. Cons: Customer Service, Not courteous or helpful more
