Very rude people. 5 stars for rudeness!!! 1/18/2010

We bought a case of wine which turned out to be not what we ordered. Employees were very rude and what appeared to be the owner told my wife and I that we were chicken shit for bringing back the case. IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE. Go figure. They will be out of business shortly with this attitude. Tommy Brasher Cons: Employees more

helpful staff 1/14/2009

I stopped by a few months ago to scope out a new place to go with my boyfriend. We were looking for a spot to meet friends for a glass of wine after dinneer. Very cute and cozy spot. Only drawback is that it doesn't stay open very late, but the lady behind the counter was very helpful in guiding me to a new wine bar opened up by a former employee or manager that would fit the bill. I thought it was really nice that she recommended a competitor! The other place was vintopia or vintropolis or something like that. I searched this site for it, but couldn't find any info. Anyway, we like Vino 100 and recommend it! Pros: helpful staff - cozy atmosphere Cons: closes too early more

Not bad, but not great 8/26/2008

Vino 100 isn't a bad place to go for a drink, but it doesn't have much of an atmosphere. On the up side, the wine selection is decent and you can order food from PF Changs. However, the place is small the seating is limited, and it kind of feels like you're sitting in the middle of a wine store. more

This is not right 4/13/2008

First, I would like to say that I had absolutely amazing experience at vino 100. This place is beautiful and the service is excellent! \r On my way to vino 100, I stopped at the other wine bar in the area ""Vinotropolis"" and was surprised by all of the negative comments about vino100, made by the owner in this place. Vinotropollis is a nice place but the fact that someone is willing to go this far, shocked me! These comments were unnecessary and I will NEVER return to this place! more

GREAT WINE, GREAT FUN!! 3/6/2008

My boyfriend and 2 other couples decided to try Vino 100 and the best time EVER! Great wine, great service and we had a blast. We will be back and can't wait to take our parents when the come into town, they love wine and will love this place! Pros: Wine, Service, Fun more

Inexpensive wines & friendly service in laid-back atmostphere 1/14/2008

I went here w/ a group of friends Friday night & we had a great time. It wasn't what I expected, a crowded late night bar. It's a chill boutique wine bar that boasts 100 wines under $25. I think they have weekly specials. For example, last week was cab week where you could get 3 glasses of selected cabs for $10. You can also order-in food from nearby restaurants. The staff is also very friendly & helpful. Pros: inexpensive wines, friendly service, laid-back atmosphere more

Wine Knowledge!! Wine Knowledge!! Wine Knowledge!! 10/11/2007

This place has really changed from the first time I visited 2 years ago - not my last visit obviously as I love wine!! It has more of a wine bar atmosphere than the former retail look, but wow the biggest change is in Management.\r The new General Manager Christopher Lawrence Barrett is a walking, talking, wine encyclopedia. The wine selection has become more eclectic, boutique, and quite wonderful. I now buy all my retail wine there as well as enjoying the atmosphere and wine-speak going on in the bar area. Did I mention the cheese - supporting local entreprenuers The Dairy Maids Mr. Chris hand selects a boutique cheese assortment to compliment his boutique wines. If you crave fine wines, cheeses, and extraordinary wine knowledge to tap into - this is your place. Go ahead ask, ask, ask, - I did and have been rewarded with some of the best wine finds and information around because have you noticed - just about everyone is opening wine bars these days with or without the expertise so.....Cheers Vino 100 (Westheimer location) you have raised the bar!! Pros: Location: quiet area, Wine Expert on Staff is unbelievable, sidewalk tables, eclectic wine Cons: Not Open Late Enough - Wine Expert had days off - Silly Man!! more

Great Wine Bar 9/19/2007

I'm not one to write reviews, but I had to put in a good word for this great establishment. I have frequented the bar on several occasions with friends and out-of-town guests. During all of my visits I always found the staff members to be helpful and friendly, the wine selection outstanding, the prices extremely reasonable and the cheese plates delicious! And, the wine tasting event I attended (I believe they have these on a regular basis) was informative and fun! Pros: Unique and Affordable Wine Selection, Great Service more

Best Wine Bar In Town!!! 9/19/2007

I have been here several times and am quickly becoming a regular. The wines are very reasonably priced and many are rare and hard to find in other places. The new manager is great, he has updated the interior nicely and brought in some amazing wine. The staff has been fun, friendly, and attentive. The new cheese plates are excellent, bravo on the truffle cheese! I love this wine bar and will be back with friends and family! Pros: Great ambience, fun staff, great wines. more

Chillin Place 10/11/2006

Loved the place!! Great wine and great service. Well almost. We went on a night when they were having some special event. When the lady there found out we were not there for the occasion but just walked in, she was very negative and sort of ignored us after getting our glasses of wine. Went back later that week and we were well taken care of that time. In any case, we'll go back, because it was a great place to chill and drink some great wine. more

Great Wine, Great Service! 9/27/2006

Last year, we used Vino 100 to buy holiday gifts for our clients. The owners helped us pick out a fabulous wine that didn't break our budget--the clients loved it! They handled everything from ordering the gift boxes, packaging the wine, hand delivering and even mailing some of the bottles to out-of-town clients. How easy is that! I think that you can also get gift baskets from Vino 100. It's definitely worth checking out! more

Great Neighborhood Wine Bar! 9/26/2006

First and foremost, the wine selection at Vino 100 is outstanding. Yes, there's a Spec's almost right across the street where you can buy wine...""flat cheap"" as they advertise. But if you enjoy trying wines from around the world, from small vineyards that don't sell to the big retailers, then you need to visit Vino 100. And you can find very nice bottles of wine at extremely reasonable prices. I also love the location--you don't have to battle the construction or the Galleria traffic. You can bring carry out from Piatto's or PF Chang's to Vino 100 and enjoy dinner in a casual, relaxed setting with a fine glass of wine. more

Great Wine! 9/26/2006

An oenophile (wino) in search of great wines and a knowlegable staff cannot go wrong with Vino 100. Have been a few times and will definitely go back. more

Great Wine selection 9/25/2006

This place was great. Great selection of wines that are not too expensive. Being that I love wine but know little about it, it was nice to have a one on one with the staff to give me tips. Definetly worth checking out. more

Great place...anytime... 9/25/2006

I threw my friend a bachlorette party here! The staff was exceptional and the price for 10 was under $100.00. We had such a good time that some of us still get together and go to their free wine tastings they have weekly. Vino 100 has a great atmosphere where you can go with a party or relax with friends or even a date. Not only that, but its a smoke free environment! Pros: The price is just right... more

Great Wine! Great Staff! 9/18/2006

What a great place! I had heard through the ""grapevine"" that we needed to check out Vino 100 and we were not disappointed. The wine selection is really diverse and not the same old fare you find out at other places, and the prices are very good too. We had some questions about a few of their unique wines, and the women working there was very helpful and really seemed to know about their wines, and was not just reading info off of the label. Next time we go back (and we will be back often) we will look forward to being recommended (and enjoying!) a great glass of wine. Pros: Can have food delivered from area restaurants! more

One night at Vinos 100's 6/1/2006

this wine bar is one of the best wine bars on the west side. Geat location, excellent selection of boutique wines. As for food, it has a nice selection of cheeses that pare well with their delicious wines. You can also order food from Piatto's Italian resturant and enjoy it in this relaxed atmosphere. Pros: friendly service, great selection, great Cigars Cons: no smoking inside more

Never made it there 3/6/2006

Tried to book a table for a happy hour event and we were told that for a group of 10, the manager preferred we NOT come unless we guaranteed a bill of at least $150. Needless to say, we didn't go. Pretty rude, especially considering that the location is west Houston outside the Beltway. I wonder how long they will last? more

Highly Over-Rated and Expensive 2/15/2006

Don't believe the hype. This place has it's regulars and if your not a regular - than they don't care about you. Good Wine selection, but it's pretty expensive you just want to have a glass or two. Highly overpriced for the location. Pros: Good Parking, Location Cons: Loud, Crowded, Expensive more
