My two daughters have attended Village Montessori School since their toddler years and I intend to keep them there through middle school. The toddler program at Village is a beautiful and supportive environment where children are treated with respect. If you visit a toddler classroom, you will see the students serving themselves a snack, eating together and then washing their plates afterward. Other children may be working with puzzles, painting, or jumping on a small trampoline. Through all of this, the teachers are helping other individuals learn to use the toilet, dress themselves, etc. I can tell you that my observations of my daughters in the toddler classroom made me a better parent. Our whole family has benefited from our VMS experience. My daughter has attended this school for 2 yrs. After touring other schools, it was a clear choice for cleanliness, professionalism, academics, safety and friendliness. The fact that the vast majority of teachers and administrators have a long tenure is a strength for the stability of the environment-which is very different than any daycare. Families are very much involved and it is truly a community. After school programs and camps are well planned. If you are looking for an true montessori school, not just a montessori-like care provider, this is the one. Highly recommended. more

This is an exceptional school! My older daughter is in her fifth year at Village Montessori, my younger daughter in her second year. I intend to continue their education at Village through 6th grade, or longer if the opportunity arises. Village Montessori School has excellent teacher retention, gorgeous and captivating classrooms, and outdoor spaces for the children which include gardens, natural play areas, and a sports field. Most important to me, however, is the kind and peaceful community the teachers and students have created. I see my two daughters being nurtured and challenged. I also see that they are learning how to approach others with kindness and acceptance. I can't imagine a better way for them to spend their day! more

In the years that our children have attended VMS we have been amazed and inspired by the growth, independence and level of learning – across all areas of development – that has transpired. At VMS our children are constantly encouraged to explore and question. Explanations and lessons are offered at a level of complexity and depth often not afforded to young children. The natural curiosity with which they approach their environment is supported and celebrated. The importance of respect, courtesy and grace is demonstrated, reinforced and strengthened by teachers and peers. The emphasis on and expectation of independence, is ever present in their work and play. They are genuinely “learning to learn”. We never imagined how these lessons would manifest in every aspect of our children’s growth. My daughter has attended Village for almost two years now (19months-3yrs old). Village Montessori really has enhanced her life. At 3 yrs old, she has mastered her ABC's, can recognize numbers and count, has made friends on her own, speaks in complete sentences, has become amazingly independent, and is beginning to read and write. We enrolled my now 3 year old grandson last year, when he was just 2 years old. Now, I will admit, that he is not the average child, which made this decision even more important. My grandson was already reading at nearly a first grade level, could correctly identify all 50 states, at least 10 different shapes, all of his colors and then some, At this point, he is now reading at a first grade to second grade level at age three. My daughter began searching for a Montessori school. because, needless to say, he was so far beyond traditional day care and pre-school, that he needed an environment where he could continue to learn at his own pace without the restrictions of a ""traditional"" classroom. While visiting and researching Montessori schools, she quickly learned that they are not all created equal, and do not, necessarily, all share identical ideas on how they treat their students. She and I were both very impressed with not only the cleanliness of Village Montessori, but their compassionate approach to the children, recognizing that some kiddos may need the ""support and reassurance"" of Mom's presence as a transition their first few days. No other school would allow for this, and that said alot to us. The teachers at VM are dedicated to helping your child grow not only in an ""educational"" sense, but, they have been extremely competent in guiding my grandson into becoming proficient at self-motivation and self-care skills, which he proudly displays at home. When we first started him at VM, he was a frustrated and bored little guy who was driving us crazy. Now, he had always been an extremely endearing and funny little guy who was very easy going, and we were anxious to see that part of him fully functioning again! To our delight, my grandson has blossomed even further since attending VM. He is an outgoing and confident little guy who is eager to go to school each day, as VM makes every day an adventure in learning and self-discovery. My daughter has attended this school for the past 4 years. I couldn't be more pleased with the staff and teachers in their quest for excellence with the students. Parental involvement is very strong and positive. I could not imagine my daughter attending a different school. Village Montessori has exceeded my expectations of what I expected from a private school. They only serve students through the 6th grade but if they were to add grades 7 and 8, our patronage of the school would continue. more

I was extremely impressed when I dropped in to observe at VMS, so I decided to enroll my two-year old in the toddler program. My daughter has been attending VMS about a month now and is almost fully potty trained (a huge plus) and always comes home beaming with happiness. It is worth every penny to know your child is safe, happy, and in excellent hands. more

My children have attended Village Montessori for seven + years. The school staff, teachers, and parents have become part of our family! They are loving and caring people, who teach me everyday about how to become a better parent and mentor to my 3 children. I have learned how to let my children really become who they are meant to be. I went for a visit at VMS - I am a big fan of Montessori education. We had moved several times in my precious daughter's 2 1/2 years and I hoped I could find a place where she would be comfortable and establish a connection. With all of our moves our daughters potty training had regressed - as soon as we got just about accident free - we moved again and upset the whole thing. Every parent I have spoken to seemed to understand that happens. Our pediatrician also said that was fairly common. When I explained that to the woman at the front office, she immediately said "YOU'RE JOKING RIGHT?" loudly with a very rude scoff. She was extremely belittling and told me my daughter wouldn't be welcome at that age without being perfectly potty trained. It was so rude I was shocked, then angered, then of course I left and never looked back. more

My son was enrolled at the Montessori school when he was 3-5. When he went to elementary school at 6, he was leaps and bounds ahead of the other kids! I only wish the school would expand for older children. Simply a great way to learn! more
