OWNER SHOULD BE FIRED!!!! 10/6/2007

I really think the guy who owns the restaurant should be fired? Yea it is that bad. The only reason to go the place is there is no other gujrati restaurant which serves that kind of food. The food usually is not that bad, however the management and the service is really bad. The owner who is there is the one who is really bad in service, So how can you expect others to do better then him? He likes to charge the "American" quality prices however still has the mentality of the "lari food" services. I really believe that Indian lari walas offer way better service then this restaurant. He does not attend to the customers. As soon as you are at the table he does not care about you. The only positive thing about this place is parking. You can easily find the parking because no one wants to go to the restaurant. If you do decide to go ( I don't know why anyone would want to ?) be ready to be insulted, treated like you don't belong there, and top of all, pay top $$ prices for all this. I REALLY ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO NOT TO GO HERE. Pros: NONE Cons: EXTREMLY POOR SERVICE, OWNER SHOULD NOT BE AN OWNER more

Sorry, but no thanks. Will never come back again 9/30/2006

Village Hut Indian restaurant is an awful name and place in Indian dinning. We went there for dinner and brought couple of guest to treat them for authentic Indian Gujarati food. But food was awful and on the top of all service and servers were awful, rude, inattentive and overall experience was totally sub par. With these many choices in Indian Dining in Chicagoland area why would someone go to place like Village Hut restaurant in Glandale Heights. No just the thanks for an awful evening Village Hut more

Pathetic Eatery 8/5/2006

Our family's experience was very poor at Village Hut; in particular the service was just plain pathetic. We had a party of 25 and the staff literally brought the garbage can out to our tables and took our dishes without asking. That was simply disrespectful and the smell of garbage didn't add to our satisfaction. During a second visit, I was a friend of a guest's party and I thought to give them a second chance. However, this time the service was poor and after repeatedly asking for water, we finally received paper cups in which we had to pour water ourselves. Also, instead of dinner napkins we had plain paper napkins, such as those we use in our household. Now I don't expect royal treatment, but when paying 12 - 15 dollars a dish, you would expect just a little more. Village Hut unfortunately is poorly managed and lacks customer service greatly. Save yourself the trip and go elsewhere to enjoy Indian Cuisine...don't say I didn't warn you. -J. Byrnes MD, Chicago, IL. Pros: parking Cons: service more

Staff to Bad. 8/5/2006

First restaurant in my life in which noone greets you on the door. Either I was expecting more or they are too frank for guests to just pull the door and jump onto any seats. I went with my wife (drove like 30 miles to reach). Stood on the waiting area, person on reception was busy chatting with someone over the phone. Then quitely sneeked inside the restaurant, I waited for another 5 minutes. Felt insulted. Left the place. I dont know abt food quality but the place where noone greets you properly is not my type. Be ready for this incase you plan to go. But if you ask me I would never go even if they offer me a 10 free dining coupons. Pros: Can't Say anything Cons: No one greets you at the door for seating. more
