False Advertisement and a dump 9/14/2010

I looked at their website and thought it looked like a cool place to bring some out of town family members this past weekend. I was so wrong and embarassed. You website does not indicate that it's just a dirty little bar. The website comes across as a 'Cheeseburger In Paradise' but it's not even close. Wasted $125 bucks on avg food, dirty building and some weird manager dude that kept hanging around my table making sexist comments to everyone. Dump...avoid at all cost. more

It still is one of the best .. my father used to come here to this place.. and I still do as well.. not everyday of course ..; but at least once a month just to chill out and find a calming place ... keep it up ! Pros: food Cons: service more

Very charming place in the middle of everything 6/23/2010

The food here is delicious. It's one of my wife and I's favorite local places. We can walk there so it feels like getting out of Midtown without having to drive! It is convenient to everything exciting in Midtown and very fairly priced. Pros: PATIO Cons: Slow service more

Great for dinner before a night on the town! 3/19/2010

A great spot for a romantic dinner and also a girls night out! This place has an old city charm to it with a upscale diner kind of feel. You would never think the inside looks the way it does from the outside. Vickery's looks iike it use to be a house that they remodled. Great outside patio overlooking the Midtown skyline with a even better menu to go with it. I ordered their cheeseburger with macaroni and cheese. Their macaroni and cheese is so different with little pieces of pepper in it but is sooo good! I have also heard their tator tots are incredible! Centered right in the middle of Crescent Street, this is a great place for a dinner before a night on the town! more

Keep moving 3/1/2010

My first dining experience at Vickery's was twenty years ago. I just went back for dinner after years and was very disappointed. It was a Sunday evening, and was ignored when I walked in the door. I had grab a menu and order from the Bartender. Sort of dirty, very smokey, and sad, for Vickery's is one of the last of it's kind in Midtown. The food was Okay, Salad and calamari, but nothing like it used to be. I suppose the ever increasing number of other restaurants in the neighborhood has taken it's toll on an old classic. Pros: It's former greatness Cons: Pretty much everything else. more

LOVED IT! 1/10/2009

I came here with some friends and loved it! The food is delicious, the wait stuff are fun, and the atmosphere is great (warm, cozy and fun). Can?t really top that! more

Yummy brunch, huge drinks 9/8/2008

This place just celebrated their 25th anniversary. I went to the party and it was rocking. These guys know how to have a good time. I have always gone for Sat/Sun bunch and just found out there is an all you can eat brunch for $10 and bottomless bloodies and mimosas for $15 more! Great atmosphere for business lunch during the week. I think it'd be cool for a private party but haven't done that yet! Oh yea....There's a new location in Glenwood Park too! Pros: Great burgers, good drinks Cons: None more

loved it.............good drinks too! 10/17/2007

Seems things are back to normal at my favorite haunt from the Eighties. I still love Vickery's even though it has changed. Pros: excellent..... parking sux more

Still O.K. Patio----But Everything Else Is Sorta Has Been. Staff Drinking On Duty? 8/11/2007

This place has been around for years. It was unique for it's patio when Midtown was starting to be the place. We stopped by before going to the new Opera. Drinks were O.K. But what really bothered us, was our server/host, think his name is Tommy, doing shots while he was working. Seems like a fun fellow, but is this the right thing to do at work. Oh well. Pros: Decent Midtown Patio Cons: Staff Drinking On Duty more

Great Midtown Lunch Spot 6/19/2007

I had lunch here on a weekday. I absolutely love the atmosphere-- the red vinyl booths are great, very retro! My server recommended the ahi tuna salad with asian ginger dressing. The salad was very good as was the quality of the tuna-- much better than I expected considering they bill themselves as a "bar." There was too much pepper on the crust of the tuna and the cracker/flat bread thing that came with the salad was hard to eat, but that's my only complaint. more

do not go during afternoon 5/17/2007

i went during the afternoon, around 2:30,and the service by Brian was bad ,I waited 25 minutes for a burger and I saw the maneger doing a shot while i waited for a meal..will not be back.. Pros: burger was ok when i finally got it Cons: too many to list more

Great place for relaxing 1/20/2007

I came here for a friend's birthday party recently and absolutely loved it. Didn't try any of the food but the cocktails and bar selection were wonderful. It's a great place to go and chill and the laid-back atmosphere really made the whole night enjoyable. Although there was a good-sized crowd, none of us felt crowded or overwhelmed like you do in a lot of places. The best part was I didn't smell leaving like a bar (smoky and gross). I highly recommend this place to anyone! Pros: cocktails, great service, atmosphere Cons: parking more

Would not recommend... 11/20/2006

I went here a few months ago and found it very gross. The smell inside the place was very stale and the food was not good. I ordered crab cakes and there was hardly any crab and they were really greasy. I like the patio but there are better places you can go. more

Give It Up! 9/25/2006

Twenty years ago, Vickery's was the place, and the Crescent area still is, but not Vickery's. The quality of food, drinks and staff has severly gone down hill. Hey guys, make it over, it could be great again! Pros: It's On Crescent Avenue! Cons: Everything! more

Best Patio in Atlanta 8/8/2006

I love Vickery's! I could sit on the patio & drink Cosmos (they come with this sidecar thingy!) every afternoon if my liver would let me. The service is usually right-on and personable. I always order the gazpacho (it's perfect!) and the summer caprese sandwich. Go for late lunch or dinner. Pros: patio, service, cosmos! Cons: long wait at lunch more

Yummy, Huge Portions 5/24/2006

The rib-eye was a little over-cooked, but still delicious. Huge portions! None of us could finish our meals. Very attentive service. Patios was nice to sit in all evening, and server didn't rush us. We wanted to share a dessert, but the selections were not appealing. Pros: portion size, spacious patio Cons: blah desserts more

Jerk Chicken Sandwhich & Plantains! Yummy! 10/18/2005

Vickery's is a great place in Midtown for lunch. The menu is very well rounded and the environment is pleasant. They have a great front patio, perfect when the weather is just right. I would recommend the Jerk Chicken Sandwich and Plantains. It comes with their own specially made mayonaisse that has a fruity essence. The onion rings are phenomenal - very skinny and perfect to eat with your fingers. Pros: Jerk Chicken, Plantains, Clean Bathrooms Cons: Parking, Crowded during lunch, Skinny straws more

FANTASTIC 1/6/2003

The Vickery's is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Atlanta, or otherwise. The service is great, the food is phenomenal and the drinks are very strong. We liked it so much, we had our wedding reception there. Again, a wonderful time and our out-of-town guests were ecstatic about everything. Try to grits or the sandwiches. Great for casual dining, large groups or dates. I love this place! Pros: Service, Drinks, Food more

Go casual, you'll be fine. 12/13/2002

Arrived at 6:30 before an ASO concert. A few people in the bar. First attempt to seat us was in the brightly lit booth area in the back at a two-top. Two other patrons in the room. What the picture doesn't show is that there is a very nice wine room with low light, fireplace and nice cozy atmosphere behind the bar. Asked to be seated there. Again, 3 people at one table - all others empty. Sat us at a two-top stuck between the fireplace and wall with me facing an empty back room (Party coming in at 7:00). Did I mention that we were dressed nicely and they weren't busy? Obviously, we left. A shame, because we had a decent experience twice this past summer. If you arrive with lowered expectations, then perhaps, you may be surprised. Pros: wine room Cons: tiny booths, bright lights more

Holy cow! I mean pig . . . 10/7/2002

Just ate at Vickery's for the first time in many years and had the special - cuban pork loin - and lots of it. There were three huge pieces of pork, and though they were underdone at first, once the kitchen cooked out the pink it was quite tasty. I had leftovers for days. The waitress was very attentive. The outdoor dining was cozy, but when I went inside I wished my date and I had chosen one of the tall red leather booths. Pros: nice patio, sexy bar, tasty food Cons: limited parking more
