Verona Laguna Salon & Spa

Bought a promo package through spa promos while they were still Verona Salon and Spa, just called to make appointment and was informed Destination just bought them last week and they no longer are accepting those promos. So if anybody else out there bought this promo, you need to contact spa promos to try to get your money back since Destination Spa says they can't do anything and the other owners just up and left. more

No joke...hands down the worst cut I have ever received in my life! I went to Josh Blank at Verona after viewing a promotion of 1st haircut free. Seeing that he had listed his qualifications as a "master stylist" trained with a well known stylist, I thought I would give it a shot. First impression, he looked very put together and well groomed. I came in, showed him some pictures of what I was looking for and told him how much I was willing to cut. He gave this annoying bach/chukkle at the pics like I was crazy for showing him those styles and said "Ok, I know what to do." So I thought cool, he hets what I'm going for from these 3 pics. He looked at my hair, smelled it making a face and said, "What kind of shampoo do use?" I told him (it was like Aussie or something at the time) And he proceeded to push Paul Mitchell. I felt so uneasy and insulted by the face he made. He then took me to the sink to wash my hair and the sexual inuendos began...he proceeded to "massage" my neck and it was SO painful. I was trying to be nice and went with it (Never do that!), but I was sore for the next couple of days--I must say that is dangerous, he could really harm someone seriously doing that (like nerve damage or something) . He called this pampering "Sex in the sinky". I then was ready for my cut. He straightened my hair and then began to cut. My mom was sitting watching him. At one point, he stopped and said, "the technique I'm going to use now is called "stroking." Now I don't know if this is what it's really called, but the way he said it, he intentially made it sound like another inuendo. O MY LORD, he started flicking the sciccors across my hair like he was Edward Scissor Hands and my hair was litterally flying everywhere. I was telling myself, "relax he knows what he's doing." NO! He started to check my hair did some more cutting and paused for a second moving my hair around. My mom said this is when he realized he had MESSED up!! I was oblivious still. He then finished. I tipped to be curteous and the cut was free. I left thinking I'll get a good look at my hair when I get home, and as soon as I got in the car, my mom said, "What did he do to you beautiful hair!!!" I was horified and anxious to get home. OMG! When I split my hair down the middle...One side was a whole 1 1/2" shorter than the other!!!!!! He left layers on one side so short, that it was not salvidgable in the fix...I had to wait to grow them and had a thinned out side from the back. I cried so much!! Could not sleep at all that night. It really messed with how I felt, (being a happy person, I felt so depressed--and He caused that) I went to another salon for a consultation and they were litterally horrified for me. Could not believe that this could have possibly been done by a "master stylist". I had to wait an entire year!! to grow my hair back out and get it evened up again and even then it had to be cut shorter than I've ever desired for myself. I should have gone with my gut when I sat in his chair for the first couple minutes and the anxiousness grew throughout the session. He carries himself as an incredibly arrogant man (though his site calls it "confidence" umm NO, he is kidding himself and is just plain arrogant), that even if I would have gone back (which I just never wanted to see him ever again let alone let him touch my hair again) he would have most likely turned it around on me. Bottom line he did whatever he wanted and not what I asked for. From what I've read below in other reviews, he has messed up enough peoples hair, that I don't even know how has a job cutting hair, let alone aspiring to have his own salon... This was a traumatizing experience...bc to this day I am afraid to have my hair cut thinking the person will ruin it so severely again. If I were the salon, i wouldn't want his name associated with it. Salon itself appeared nice inside. Whew...Peace Out! Nearly every time I have sat down in my stylists chair, the horrible woman who manages the salon has come over and talked shop (aweful things) about others who work there. This has taken away from my experience every time! I wish there was some way to let the ownership know what an aweful manager they have. more

I was referred to the famous Josh at Laguna. While yes he is easy on the eyes and gives a great head massage - My cut came out like cr*p. Nothing at all like we discussed. He is also extremely juvenile. Felt like I was getting my hair cut by a horny teenager. He would also not honor HIS own promotion - whereby 1st time clients receive a free haircut. I was from out of town and was getting married in Las Vegas. I made an appointment with OLGA for an updo. She did an amazing job! I looked fabulous for my wedding! The staff was real friendly and made me feel like a important guest. The salon was clean with a real nice decor. I would highly recommend this salon to my friends visiting the Las Vegas area. more

Arrogant man at the front desk, one woman said he was the manager. He treated the staff with disrespect. I was overcharged for one of the services I received and when I asked him about it he walked away saying I needed to talk with the staff person. I stood my ground and was issued a credit, not a refund for the overcharge. That is illegal. more

Well this was my first time at this salon, but I had to go there to find "JOSH BLANK". I live in South Carolina and Josh did my hair at A Robert Cromeans Salon while I was visiting Vegas a year ago. I and my husband have never been so pleased with my hair. If I could I'd have him do my hair all the time, but he's in Vegas. Ya'll don't know how lucky ya'll are to have this amazingly talented Man in Your state. Josh if you see this my husband said you did another great job with the style and the color. Josh is worth every penny that you have ever spent on your hair and then some. You get what you pay for, why not try the BEST. Pros: They have JOSH BLANK!!!! And everyone else ther was super nice. Josh Blank until recently from A Robert Cromeans Salon is now at Verona Laguna! He is the most amazing stylist ever! Whatever you are used to, you will be amazed at how skilled this guy's hands are and more amazed at how affordable he's become. He lowered his prices from that over-priced casino salon so he could keep his clients. He has done my hair for 2 years and always telling me how to take care of it, style it, and what's new! I've been going to Verona since December of 2007 and they are incredible. They have all kinds of services and I get them all done there. While there are some staff "in-training" they have seasoned staff as well so it's a great mix. I definitely recommend them because they're accomodating to everyone. Beautiful front desk staff! it is a shame that the quality of service is so poor and the hair staff so outdated. ..Hair Colorist changed my base color without asking, asked for partial highlights, walked out totally blonde, nobody knows how to do a proper hair drying job. Staff is not properly trained, unmotivated and need MANNERS, they have no civility. Dany, the waxer is excellent, keeps a professional attitude and great vibe in her relaxing room. The owner , John, is trying his best but the mediocrity is rampant. Shame!!! Could be a great place with state of the art training, motivation, VIP treament, ..."please, may I and thank you"... for starters and send them to get cutting-edge new styles, they should dress more NOW not yesterday.. Will give it one more shot, that's it! A shot of originality and creativity is sorely needed... more

Went in to have highlights done in my hair and they lost my appointment. The person at the front desk, was incredibly rude about this, and then she turned out to be the manager, Crystalyn. Even when I played the message on my cell phone from the day before confirming my appointment date and time, from one of her staff members, she said I was wrong about the appointment. I made an appointment for a gel nails fill and when I got there the person I'd been scheduled with didn't even DO gels. I should have taken that as a sign but instead I rescheduled for the next day. My french polish looked like a child had done it. It was uneven and mismatched on the nails. The gels were lumpy and had so much on that it started to pinch my nails inward when it hardened. My cuticles were torn open with a nail file on two different fingers to the point where I had to use neosporin and bandaids when I got home. The clear topcoat was not even applied to two of my nails which I noticed after I left. And it took almost two hours! After coming back in to complain later that day and showing the front desk girl my nails, she said the manager would call me Tuesday (this happened on a Thursday) to let me know what they would do to remedy this situation. Well, it's Thursday night and they still haven't called OR refunded my $48. I will stick with Queyn at Euphoria (the Sahara/Ft Apache location)! Much better skill, faster, better price. Worth the drive for me, especially after the nightmare experience I had at Laguna/Verona that still hasn't been fixed on their end! more

A day at the spa can be quit expensive in Vegas if you are staying at one of the strip hotels. I found the jem a few blocks off the strip. Cut and color from Veronica made me feel like a new woman and the massage was wonderful. While not as beautiful venue as a spa located in a high or mid end hotel at half the price with great service and treatments this is the only way to go. I will be back in Vegas in a few weeks and I have booked another day of joy. Pros: value, quality, service Cons: not beautiful shop more

I've been going to Laguna for a couple of years. While it is not perfect, it is still a great place to be. It has an open atmosphere that is very friendly. The reviews that I've read are strange, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. They have a variety of services and retail, a Cafe, and a Perfume shop. I have and will continue to recommend this spa and salon, but there is always room for improvement. I was given a gift certificate for Xmas to use at Laguna and in my first two visits I was annoyed by the cashiers asking for tips upfront instead of AFTER services like they're supposed to. The last time I went, the cashier asked me THREE times if I'd like to include gratuities with my certificate! I told her the first two times that I would see how things went BEFORE considering leaving a tip. It was unprofessional of her to ask for a 3rd time. Its like they're literally begging for money. The second thing I disliked about the spa is that unlike all the others, they put an expiration date on their gift certificates! I don't reccommend Laguna to anyone! more

My husband and I took a trip to Vegas and found that Laguna Spa was rated highly on City Search. Well, it wasnt the greatest. My salt scrub could have been done better if I would have done it myself, and the massage felt like a lite rub. I left dissapointed and I felt that this Spa is Overrated.
