We live close to Veneto's, and have dined there and had takeout many times. We like the menu, the atmosphere, and that the owners are always there. I can understand some people's comments about the service- although mine has always been good; the wait staff seems very young, kind of like they haven't been doing it that long. Anyway, back to the food. They start you off with the bread and dipping sauce, made from herbs and olive oil- sooo good! We always get the spaghetti and meatsauce, but when I've gone with family from out of town, they always enjoy their meal, too. The portions are enormous, so go when you're hungry! The atmosphere is nice, not too dressy, and on Fridays there are live musicians playing. I would also say that this place is kid friendly, even though I've never seen too many kids there. I've taken my kids, and each time there might have been one or two other families with young children in the restaurant. Also, when my kids were newborns, this was our go-to restaurant for takeout. We could order one meal and split it b/c the portions were so big! The price is right, too. You really get a lot for what you pay. As for the nay-sayers' comments, you have to understand that this is a neighborhood restaurant, not something in town. It's not that sophisticated, elegant, or expensive. All in all, I'd highly recommend Veneto's. Try it, you'll like it!
Pros: great food, great prices
