It's funny that Velocity Local reviewed itself and gave itself 5 stars to balance out the low ratings, yet it's not surprising to me after dealing with them.
I signed a contract with Velocity Local on 4/9. Per the agreement I was expecting to receive Web Design, Mobile App, Social Media Marketing, Local Marketing, Custom written social media updates, Social Media engagement (retweets, fan follows, likes, circle additions), etc
When we met on 4/9 I showed the Velocity Local team my current website and let them know that I was only looking for a few minor changes. They told me it would be easy since most of the work was already done, but that it would still take two weeks to turn around which I was ok with.
I sent an email on 4/21 to follow up because I had not had any contact with Velocity Local since the agreement was signed. I was expecting social media updates on my behalf and a google + account to be set up. I called again on 4/23 to follow up because I hadn't heard anything and received a call back on 4/24 to let me know the website was done.
The website was not even close to the changes we spoke about. They had put stock pictures from the internet on the site and just copy and pasted some content from my current site. Anything they did add themselves (like some new tabs - had spelling errors).
The next time I spoke to anyone at Velocity Local was on 5/3. I told them that I wanted to cancel and wanted a refund. I was told a manager would call me Monday. No manager called Monday, I did speak to 2 people and was told that not only would I not get a refund but they were going to charge me for the next month on 5/9 because I didn't give a 30 day cancellation.
Since then they have agreed not to charge me again on 5/9, but I am still out quite a large sum of money. I have asked the people I was working with at Velocity Local for a manager's contact information and they have refused to provide it. I have been told that they will "try" to get someone to call me.
