Editorial review from Citysearch 11/26/2012

I don't know the name of the man that helped me, but he was extremely rude! I wasn't able to ship my package because it was perfume and considered flammable, so I asked him what I should do. He told me that I should just get a gift card and ship that. I had to hold back the colorful words I wanted to say to him. more

No Heart 12/24/2010

Today, Christmas Eve Day, I took the extra few mins. to drive to this Post Office which, until today, I still considered ""my"" post office, even though I moved from the Medical Center area this past summer. Maybe it wasn't the smartest idea, since I knew I'd be pushing it, but I arrived at exactly 12 noon (their closing time today). When I entered, one of the 3 people working there promptly told me that they were already closed, even though it was exactly noon. I literally begged him, ""please"" so I could get my one, easy, package out today before the holiday, but he ignored me. I would have been in tears if not for the kindness and heart of this wonderful black lady who worked there. She could see how distressed I was, and she helped me through the process of using the automated machine next door to send my package. And, while I'm so very grateful for this woman who was truly my angel today, I have to say that, with people working at the post office like this one guy who was so cold and mean on Christmas Eve, even though he gets the whole rest of the day off, I can understand why post offices are becoming more and more obsolete. There's no empathy or heart, only rigidity and apathy. Now, I'm not saying that all the people who work in that P.O. are like this guy (thank God!), but still, I'll probably never go back there. What's the point? I mean, I'd like to think that, on Christmas Eve, knowing that people want to get packages out to their families, etc., that there would be at least a 10-15 min. grace period. To be so stringent on the time (and I honestly think that door was locked at 11:59am) is to not be a person, but rather a robot. And, on Christmas Eve, it's definitely being a scrooge. Guess I can start patronizing the P.O. that's closer to me now. more
