BEWARE 6/2/2017

Under no circumstances takes your child to UBH Denton for situational depression. They will over medicate, refuse to release and threaten court orders, turn patients against family members, confuse patients and medications, your requests for returned calls are ignored and Regina the release therapist is incompetent and combative discussing her own mental illness and her abuse as a child with the patient. My son lost 10lbs in one week, one doctor prescribed an additional medications without consult with the lead psychiatrist knowledge and when I questioned she had no idea and denied responsibility and blamed the charge nurse. A place like this is only suppose to get the patent stable and discharge into an Outpatient faculty. 13 days being held against parents consent and when I was finally allowed to take him out against medical advice after being threatened to go to court, they refused to supply the medications they'd given him or give a prescription for the meds. more

Don't EVEN consider going there. 10/5/2016

Worst place ever. You get treated like a prisoner, the doctors prescribe any kind of medicine to you because they still get paid, the nurses are a joke. Please look elsewhere if you want the BEST mental health treatment. more

Literally saved my life 7/11/2014

THIS IS A LOCKODWN FACILITY! So you may be in for a shock at the ristrictions but they truly are for your safety and the safety of everyone else. I've been to a few facilities in the 20 yrs I've been diagnosed and can say hands the no facility in the Southern States, that I have been to, can even compare to the compassionate, individualized treatment I received at UBH. This is a place to avoid a crises and start you on a new road to health and healing. It's not the Four Seasons, and I can't say much for the food, but the Dr.s and staff have saved my fragile life (and possibly the lives of others) in the process. I was treated like a human being, not psycho or an irritation. Thanks UBH for my life as I know it now! more

Incompetent 4/14/2014

Consumer beware! This is psychiatric care at its worst! Utterly incompetent staff, administration and care. Family member went due to a tragedy. Spent all day in one room, and given crayons. No talk therapy, just victims. Although there was no threat to harm self or others there was no leaving until the insurance dictated stay was complete. This is a fraud. more

absolutly horrible 1/27/2013

i went to the freedom care program there for ptsd and it was the worst thing i could have ever done. I was treated like a prisoner and a piece of crap. No respect shown to me whatsoever. The doctors and staff do not care about you at all. They just want your money. Do NOT go to this place, you will hate life here. There are better metal health facilities in tijuana that are better than this place. I am warning you, please with all my heart do not go here especially to freedom care for service members. A little piece of you dies every day that you are there. It is so bad that you actually begin to give up on life because of the way you are treated. Please please please do not go here, you will regret it the very second you step foot in. more

Not Bad 3/14/2012

I went here in the Fall of 2011. It wasn't a stay at the Ritz but overall, it wasn't bad. My doctor was knowledgeable, the food was decent and the staff was as staff at psychiatric hospitals are- strict. I give it 5 stars because UBH-Denton got my head straight. Since having gone there, seeing my psych regularly and taking my meds - I am able to have a level of enjoyment to life that was lacking prior to my admittance. Anyone who says UBH-Denton is less than average either has not gone to other facilities or doesn't understand what it means to be ADMITTED to a psychiatric facility. It is what it is and- it wasn't that bad. more
