Udipi Restaurant

I went here a couple of times and it was okay. But, then I found the Woodlands Vegetarian Restaurant and never went back to Udipi. The Woodlands is on University, a couple of blocks north of Commercial. They have a very small buffet, but its always tasty and its always changing. Without over exagerating, I've eaten there, at least 30 times and they are still serving dishes that I've never seen before. On the table is always a container of mango milkshake. If you like chutneys, they always have at least 4-5. The buffet usually has at least one bread, an appetizer, 3-4 entrees, 1-2 soups (love their soup), 1-2 different rices and 1-2 dessert dishes. The owner (who is always there) and the staff is very nice. The place is always clean. LOVE THIS PLACE more

After craving some really tasty and spicy Indian, we were told (by locals) that this was THE place for Indian in South Florida. We were so excited to try this place and ready get up to our elbows in sauces everything!\r \r WHAT A SAD EXCUSE FOR INDIAN FOOD! I'm sorry, but Florida is mistaken as to what authentic Indian cuisine is! It was embarrassing to eat there and even introduce friends! I would never step foot there again, nor promote it to anyone. more

Simply stated: this is not Indian cuisine. The flavors are so off, you have to wonder who is really in the kitchen! Having grown up around many Indian families and eating in many family homes, good restaurants, community gatherings, I was sadly disappointed after visiting this restaurant! \r \r Still on a quest for some good *heck, I'll even take decent* Indian food! more

My husband and I love this restaurant. Their all you can eat buffet is lavish and oh so delicious. They have both North and South Indian entries. The owner Sean is a great host. more
