First of all, I have been going to this UPS location for over a year. It's the most convenient one to hit on the way to work, and I probably overnight things 3-4 times per week, as well as send packages about once a week. I know that they charge a little more than the post office on things, but I agree that you have to stay in business someone. Still, there's a line you cross that chases customers away, and that is just what happened to me.
The owner (middle aged male) has always been a little rude. He makes inappropriate comments, gets quite loud and upset with some of his clients, and really treats everything like a chore. Also, the store will just randomly open 30-45 minutes late and/or close early whenever he wants.
The thing that really pissed me off was when I went to send my wedding invites. As I said, I go there A LOT and give them A LOT of business. They told me it would cost 95 cents for each of my wedding invites. I actually talked to the owner about this for a while because it was a lot more than I expected and really more than I could afford. He simply said that they were heavy and that's how much it cost. No offer for a discount (I was shipping large quantities) and no hint that maybe I could save money going to the post office for this personal errand. They simply charged me with a big smile on my face, three separate times while each time I talked about how much it cost.
My fiance brought some of the late invites to the post office, where we discovered it was only 64 cents. When I called to politely ask why he had over shot me by 33%, he said he had to make money. My fiance called a bit later to ask why, as a valued customer I hadn't been offered a bulk discount or steered away, and the owner promptly told him to F*#k off. Great business practices. You may have made 31 cents on each of those invites, but you've lost the thousands of dollars that I would continue to spend on shipping and overnighting. DO NOT GO HERE!
