Really great, homey service. 11/9/2009

Turo Turo is the kind of place you go to because you're a Filipino and are too lazy to cook your own darn dinner. The prices are excellent, which is one of the major reasons why. It's cheaper to get food to go here and shop for it at a store, cook it yourself, make a huge mess in the kitchen, and so on. They usually have on offer all the Filipino basics as other Yelpers have already mentioned. Something they also offer is Balut. And what exactly is balut, you ask? According to Asia Food, it is ""A speciality in the Philippines, these fertilised duck eggs are believed to be beneficial to pregnant women and men whose libido needs bolstering. Balut is eaten when the chick has formed."" I don't eat the duck part myself, just sip the soup that comes out of it, kinda like a boiled egg, but with flavored soup, and the yolk part of the egg too. It's a heck of an experience to eat. Something young men do when they're drunk and dare each other to do it. Or if you grew up in the Philippines and this is simply the alternative to boiled egg. Really great, homey service. more

Nice place for those who have less budget 6/3/2009

The place was very clean and the people were friendly. My favorite was the chicken pork adobo plus the pork sinigang. I finished it off with 2 pieces of turon and a huge cup of halo - halo. All for 12 bucks, not bad. Pros: Good food with low budget to spare Cons: taste to dicover more

If you're out looking for good filipino food in the city, then I highly recommend this restaurant. Best time to come is for lunch, where they have a variety of mouth watering entrees to choose from such as kare-kare, sinigang, bbq, and pinakbet just to name a few. They also have different kinds of desserts---leche flan, halo-halo, and puto/kutsinta, and many more. The staff are really friendly too, they will always greet you with a smile...with the added touch of filipino hospitality. more
