I must say, I have been impressed by the Tucson library system as of late.
I use the Wilmot Branch on N. Wilmot, just north of Broadway Blvd. It is an older branch, but has been kept up nicely. They just recently installed two self-check out kiosks. A very nice addition. (Only problem with this system is IF you check out a DVD you still must have an employee remove the security device from it. You cannot do this w/the self check out.)
The people who work at this branch are really nice and helpful. Especially after they get to know you a bit. (I'm in there a LOT with my kids.) There is a story time twice a week that my kids enjoy attending. They use plenty of books, puppets and music to entertain the kids. AND.....best of all.......it is FREE!!! Once a year they even have a Teddy Bear picnic as a special event.
The library system in Tucson also is online. You can log in and renew your items online. You can even place holds and requests for materials. This is a terrific feature. Get your card, go online, request your item. They will e-mail you to let you know it is in. Then go to your chosen branch and pick it up. EZ!!!
There is always a summer reading program through the Tucson-Pima library system as well.
So much to mention ..........
Just be sure to go to their web site and check out all your library has to offer!!
