I recently used Tropiano based on a recommendation from someone. I was nervous because of the reviews I saw here. Tropiano on time the city and transported out to a camp in Horsha...


Local drivers are great. Dispatcher was rude. Nick was even more rude. Find another company.

Inept and rude. They let my guest and her young child (a wedding) wait on the shuttle bus for a ride back to the hotel well over 1 hour. When I called the office simply to ask why, I got a screaming, cursing owner who told me to get lost. There are other limo services available....check them out but suggest you don't use these guys if you want good service. more

This was the worst shuttle service I've ever experienced, EVER! I called for service 4 hours in advance of my flight around 2:30 for a 7:00 pm international flight. They sent the shuttle 1 ½ later which was okay, it should get me to the airport by 5:00 pm. But on my way to the airport, the driver received a call from the dispatcher to pick up another fare. The fare was in the opposite direction of the airport and further than my hotel. By the time we picked them up, and headed back to the airport it was 5:30. At 5:40, we PASSED MY HOTEL AGAIN on the way to the airport! And because it was rush hour, what should have been a 40 minute ride took over 2 ½ hours. I got to the airport at 6:55! Needless to say, I missed my flight and there were no more flights for the night. I had to hustle to get a hotel and call international on my cell phone incurring roaming and long distance charges calling my travel agent at home after hours to book another flight the following day. I had to pay my sitter to stay with my kids overnight. \r \r But that wasn’t the worst part. The worst part was that I called Tropiano to get an explanation and I was told by a gentleman named Ray, “well, that’s the chance you take when you hire a shuttle. We can’t guarantee that you will get to your destination at a particular time, if you wanted guaranteed service, you should have hired a private ride”. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! The next day I called to speak to the owner, Nick Tropiano, but got his voicemail. I left a message. In fact it’s been almost a week and I have left several messages for Mr. Tropiano and I have yet to receive one single call. \r \r This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I just want to caution others before spending $40 US on this company that obviously does not care about people and does not want to take responsibility for the actions of their employees. Their lack of compassion and poor judgement has cost me close to $3000 (so far). If you value your hard earned money, PLEASE DO NOT USE TROPIANO. They do not stand by their service and they don’t care about you.\r more

All of the negative reviews are correct They do not care about any of there customers or employees. Equipment is dangerous, dispatchers call customers aholes every time they hang up the phone (if they even answer). Nick and his crew (family members) are a bunch of crooks. They do not pay their bills they owe everybody (including their employess)\r Drivers are great because they have to be to get tips since their payroll checks bounce. Yes I am a former employee Nov 2012 last 3 paychecks bounced NSF Hopefully at some point the IRS DOT and BBB will take a close look at this outfit\r Customer beware!!!!!!!! more

\r The worst phone manners, I called to get a quote on a shuttle and was given an attitude when I said I'll call back (which is what a quote is, not a reservation). I called back after 15 minutes and was told by the exceptionally rude women that the shuttle was no longer available. She said ""you should've booked it when we were first doing it"", which again, was 15 minutes before. Never, ever call here more

Infuriating! After 25 years, will never use again. 12/19/2011

I had been using this service since 1986. They used to be very professional and courteous, but alas, within the last few years service has seriously gone to the dogs. The drivers are pretty nice, but the front line people who take reservations and dispatch seem to be burned out or hate their jobs, because they are absolutely horrendous with the customers.\r \r I travel to Philadelphia a few times a year, and this time I made a reservation to be picked up at the airport. When I called the dispatch, I was told it would be 20-30 minutes. When it turned into an hour, and I was obviously annoyed, I called and would be put on hold by the dispatcher and made to wait several times for more than 5 minutes, would have to call over and over just to be ""ignored"". The guy, who I found out is named Harold, told me if I wanted faster service I should have hired a private car and that I shouldn't complain, since people without reservations typically wait 2-3 hours. What??? I wouldn't brag about that!!!\r \r To make things worse, when I called Nick, the owner the next day to give him feedback, rather than apologizing and thanking me for the info, he gets all hostile, saying everyone loves Harold, (so what's my problem, right?) and that he has a stressful job. And when I ask him if he has considered changing his process so the dispatcher is not the one answering the customer, he gets all ""This is my successful business, who are you to tell me how to run things"" and I wound up hanging up because he was absolutely ridiculous.\r \r What ever happened to common courtesy and a sense of service excellence? I guess he has customers aplenty, doesn't need the ones who have been patrons for over two decades and who care enough to try to give him insight like me. Never again. more

Yo Mama must be correct. The Atlantic City operation has been shut down. I also find it interesting that Nicholas Tropiano only took exception to Yo's prediction of business closure. The statements about vehicle condition and passing bad checks must be accurate. more

Going Out Of Business 11/5/2011

I have been using this company for a long time. I have watched it decline severly in the last 5 years. I have stopped using them after 13 years. Customer service is non existent. The owner (a no clue, jerkoff) must be boinking Cindy. She is rude and arrogant. The vehicles are an embarressment. No A/C, severe vibrations, weird noises. They are also dangerous. Bald tires, cracked windshields, you name it. During my last ride, my driver explained that there was no EZ pass because the company owed $9,000. He also told me that the owner was in the habit of issuing bad payroll checks. He was unable to cash 4 weekly payroll checks. I believe that he has since left the company. Don't make any long range plans with Tropiano. I don't think that they will be around much longer. more

Wedding day disaster 9/25/2011

We order the trolley for our wedding day, they were supposed to pick up my husband and his groomsman at 1230 as the day went by still no trolley we call the company they said the trolley broke down.. So they now are sending us out something else. In the meantime the guys decided to head to the church by getting in there cars. They claimed they were coming to pick up the bridal party but now it's 130 the time we are supposed go be getting married at, we drive ourselves to the church. Get out of the church here's our bus they sent us with wait no air conditioning! They now literally have to drive us 10 mintues down the road and that was the end of there service. They tell my dad he will get the whole refund.. Now he only gets half back because they sent us a bus... We never ask for a bus the last time I checked. I would never recommend this company to anyone..jerk offs. more

An ex-loyal customer, Terrible Customer Service 8/30/2011

I have been using Tropiano for 4-5 years. I live overseas and come home every summer. My family pays over $400 each way from JFK to Hatfield, PA. SO we pay nearly $1000 a year to them. The drivers have always been kind, courteous very pleasant. However, when I have called them the people are very rude. My (normally laidback) husband said the same thing, as did my mother. Even one of the drivers agreed that the people in the office are not very professional. This seems to be a common theme when you read the other reviews. I came home last week from overseas as usual. When we got to the driver he told me that someone had called the office and told them to wait for 3 hours only. He said he was worried that we'd be left. It turns out they lied to the driver. They called my mom 3 times saying we were talking so long, it had never taken so long before, this was highly unusual and they were going to charge us for the long wait. My mom was terrified that our plane had crashed and burned. When I called to complain about the extra fee, I was told I should have called to tell them I would be late. CIndy said, if you were held up in customs, you should have called. She told me they do thousands of international flight pick-ups and this was not normal. I told her the guy at customs at JFK said that 3-6 PM is the busiest time for them. Three international flights came in. That's over 1000 people going through customs and then getting their luggage. She said that 2.5 hours was much too long and that I should have told them I would be late and that I could dispute it with my credit card company, but she wouldn't credit anything. I said if they do so many international flights, they should be familiar with this. it's a no brainer. We were not held up, just moving with the line. She then put me on hold for 15 minutes and never came back. A guy finally picked up and took my number to have someone call me back. Of course no one did. I was a loyal customer. No more! more

Avoid Tropiano at all costs 8/1/2011

I used Tropiano for transportation from Caesar's Atlantic City to PHL. First off, they gave me the wrong location for pickup. When I called for clarification, the person who answered the phone was rude. I called when the van was 20 minutes late, and was told ""He'll be there shortly."" I called back after another 15 minutes and was put on hold (aka ignore) twice for ten minutes - no one came back on the line. When I called back once again, I was told they didn't know where he was. They finally got someone to pick me up after 1 1/2 hours. Thankfully, I made my flight.\r \r Similar to a previous comment, I called the main office when I got home and was told ""I don't like your attitude.""\r \r Check out the BBB website, they have an ""F"" rating. I don't know how companies like this stay in business. more

NO A/C in almost 100 degree weather 7/22/2011

My family used Tropiano Transportation for a shuttle to the PHL airport. I could not believe it when my family told me there was no air conditioning in the transport vehicle. The temperature was almost 100 degrees. The driver told them that the A/C would get cooler as they drove. Well, by the time they arrived at PHL, everyone was sweating their butts off. Will never use them again. more

BEWARE of using this company! 6/29/2011

Our company booked a bus form Tropiano which was supposed to come to our business at 4:30 to take employees to a Phillies game. The bus was 40 minutes late. Then it broke down. We got a new bus which got us there in the 6th inning. But that is not all- the second bus broke down on the way home. We had to pay over $500 for cabs and got back at 1am. When I called Tropiano on Monday, a customer service manager hung up on me. I have not heard back from the company. more

Awful Customer Service 6/3/2011

I always liked the drivers but not the customer service when you book your shuttle. No two shuttle services are alike and I told then I did not get an itinerary they said no shuttle service does this. Wrong, I get mine e-mailed. Then, for a Cash Only business they charge a lot. I have never been a fan of most anything Philly, and I am originally from the area. People are not nice ESPECIALLY in business situations. more

Should be named ""Terrible Transportation"" 11/2/2009

Don't even think about using this company for wedding transportation. They ""forgot"" to pick up the bride and groom, then it took a month to get them to issue a credit for the ""fogotten"" service. On top of that they double billed us! Also, they have many cases filed against them with the BBB. more



Best company around 12/22/2007

I just to work for tropiano and they were the best company i ever worked for. unfornated i had to resign for personal reason. but other than that i really enjoyed driving their shuttle to from airports & hotels. They really look out for their customers & workers. They are the best. more
