In 2007, I was sold a lemon edition of my dream car- I had waited ten years for this car... Then, for some following months, I had to drive from Wilmington to Raleigh several times for the dealership to do various repairs on my car. No gas reimbursement, and the rental car was only available to customers willing to operate within business hours. It is now 2009, and my dream car is parked in the driveway, and will be until I come up with $4060 to make necessary repairs. Also, the dealers are not above intimidation methods to get their way! User Rating: 1 out of 5 stars \r by 2 KIDS TO CARE FOR 03/28/2009 \r I took my car in with info from the dealer. Tom called me to give me an estimate of 1700.00 on engine repairs and timing belt. Told Tom could not afford it. He told me to do some calculations and to call him back with what he could pay him. Paid him 600.00 down, with plan of 600.00 next pay check and 500.00 with pay check after that. The next day he called back to inform me job would be 2300.00 and I told Tom I do not have the money, he just want me to let him fix the car and he would work out all the details. The next day I spoke with other about cars and repair. Kia dealers told me it would cost around 1800.00 to repair the whole engine and I let Tom know that and ask him for a written estimate with warrenty info. He then starts to get upset that I would even ask him for that information and that he could not tell me until the motor shop could get back to him on every thing they had to do. Well to make a long story short. Motor shop came back fixing the engine cylinder #3 at 500.00 and 399.00 for parts. Well Tom says the rest of the cost came from the timing belt and he did not include that in the price for parts but is adding 1200.00+ for labor. Kia quoted me 500.00 for timing belt. Anyway Tom lied because in the original estimate he said the timing belt was a time bomb and advised replacement, but now that I am questioning figures he say that all the timing belt info change and that it was not included in the first estimate. He futher called the rental car company (triangle rental car) and gave them my info. Triangle calls me and say that Tom gave them my name and that if I don't come and pick up my car that is now ready and turn in the rental that Tom set up then they would report the car stolen. Ask Tom about it and he said that it is not a problem and and I just need to come pay and pick up my car. Tom also wanted me to pay 1300.00 insted of the payment plan as my father offered to pay that and no more because he knows that we were being ripped off. So, Triangle imports still has my car today. I have never been treated so rude, and have never felt so pushed around, and made to feel so inferior in my life. I hope to get WRAL 5 on your side invovled or trouble shooters. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE - YOU WILL BE DUPED INTO PAYING A CRAZY AMOUNT OF MONEY TO HAVE YOUR CAR REPAIRED. AND PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THE FREE RENTAL CAR.
