Best bike shop in Tampa by far! 7/30/2011

I am a serious triathlete and certified coach who needs to use a bike shop frequently. Bought two bikes over the past 3 years, staff is great and always bends over backwards to help. Had an issue with one of the Trek frames, and not only did they immediately replace it, they upgraded the frame by two models! Also had some minor mechanical issues on a bike I did not buy at this store, and the mechanics Tim, Sean and Phil each on different occasions stopped what they were doing to immediately assist and repair the issues. Very friendly, helpful and by far the best bike shop I've used anywhere in Tampa, St Pete or Orlando. I refer people to it all the time and do not shop anywhere else. more

Bike Service Beware 7/10/2010

Took my bike in for service at $105. Told that I needed a new chain for $26 and a new rear sprocket for $77. I discussed with the tech and agreed to the new chain but wanted to hold off on the sprocket. Left my bike and headed out of town for a long weekend. Got a call that they wouldn't service my bike if I did not get the rear sprocket. I called and talked to the ""regional manager"". He said it was a ""safety issue"". I am a recreational rider and have no problem with gear slippage. How does a tighter chain on the old sprocket create a ""safety issue"". Seems more like a revenue issue to me.
