Trad's Garden Center & Pest Control

I use Trads for pest control and lawn spray and they do a wonderful job. They got rid of the black worm things that I find at my front door right away so I tried them for lawn fertilizing and pest control. Trads saved my lawn too, they are the only company that will treat crabgrass and sedge. I pay a little extra for the spraying but they got rid of my crabgrass and my sedge is almost all gone too. My lawn is probably the best on the street and the office is very nice too. \r \r \r more

Trads is awesome! The people who complain don’t follow Trads instructions! I know because I used to be one of those people. I called to complain about my lawn and Trads sent out a service person who went over the lawn with me. I started watering and mowing like they said and my lawn is amazing. I have used other companies and I can tell you Trads is the only company that cares about its customers.\r \r \r more

Trad's is about Par for the course, they don't offer anything exceptional in the lawn care side. They won't treat for sedge weeds unless you pay extra, they didn't fertilize my bushes, I had to call them several times to come back out for weeds. Billing dept sent me bills claiming I had not paid, when in fact I had. I finally got tired of it, they are not very well managed from the office side from my experience, that's too bad. They are a locally owned company and I tried to give them my business but I finally had to move on. I'm selecting a new service now and have been very impressed with some of the other companies offer that Trad's didn't offer. more

After 6 years of treatment and free sod replacement my yard was full of dead sod and weeds everywhere. The issues in my yard continued until I started using another company. more

We been using their service for about 1.5 years and our Lawn has never looked as good, its not just weed free it is also the greener then anyone in my neighborhood !! I read the other reviews and maybe those people need to water their lawns, thats why they die after the treatment !! I would very much recommend Trads !! You guys are doing a great job !!!! I have always enjoyed stopping by the Trad's Garden center so when my husband starting moaning about our current lawn maintenance co. I thought ""here is a great chance to go local"" Surely a local company will care more about customer service and success than the big uncaring corporate guys."" Boy was I wrong. Our lawn went from ""OK but needy"" to ""Desperately dead"" in a matter of months. I mean it was brown and weedy and dead and they never made a suggestion or said a word. But they still came out and sprayed this dead yard and then PUT THEIR SIGN UP! It was such a joke, we couldn't believe it. Who would advertise their company on a dead yard? My lawn cutting guy took a picture so that he could convince other customers to stay far far away from Trad's lawn care. So should you! more

Went in to setup an appointment after reading on their website about how they will plan out a landscape job for you. I had to call and follow up, they were rude to me on the phone. Then Mr. Trad comes out and spends two minutes telling me that it is $500/pallet to have sod put down. ""let me know when you have decided what to do"" What great help they were. Plus that is twice the price of the other few companies I have called. I heard great things about Trad's but I tell you I will not be visiting them again. Cons: a few more

When I moved to Jacksonville, I drove by this garden center daily without walking in. But, one day there were these beautiful flowers lining the street! They were sooooooo pretty! I had to stop in! They were so happy to let me just wander around (I HATE INTRUSIVE SALESPEOPLE!), but once I was ready to start with my question, they were very helpful! I wanted to just get into my garden right away (which I didn't even have yet!) and they got me there! I have even called back with questions, and they were helpful (and I wasn't even spending $$$). Give 'em a try and you will never want to shop anywhere else! Pros: So beautiful, so convenient! Cons: Only one location more

Trad's is my happy garden place. Just seeing the pretty and colorful flower border at the street makes me smile. I really like to go there and find the plants I want, and more than I knew I wanted. The staff has never failed to help me, whether answering my questions, finding out what I need and having the solution, suggesting something that I might like or want to know about, or taking purchases to my car?and, they are happy to see me. I've attended a couple of the Saturday seminars, too, and was fascinated. I learned practical things I can do myself, and things I didn't already know. Questions were welcomed, so I got real answers and solutions to my garden and shrub concerns. I have a 14' rock garden in the front of our house. I couldn't seem to figure out the right mix of plants because it faces north and most bedding plants require more sunlight. My husband and I went to Trad's on a Saturday morning, caught the 'Garden Series' seminar at 10 and then talked to one of their experts. We walked away with a car load of plants that have taken my rock garden to a whole new level of wow! We had also signed up for their newsletter and emails so we had a coupon which made the experience even better. Now my rock garden 'rocks'! And I have a garden expert at Trad's that I can go to the next time I need to brainstorm about landscaping and garden design. One last thing, the lady who helped us gave us some great advice I'd like to share. She said, ""don't plant your garden all at once. If you've never been to Trad's Garden Center on San Jose, you have to go. Once you see the huge variety of plants, flowers, tress, and everything for your yard, you won't shop anywhere else. Just because it's not a big box store, doesn't mean the prices are high. They grow a lot of their own foliage so they can price items competitively and often, less than others because of the volume. But you'll find the coolest plants and flowers that aren't like you normally see at Lowe's or Home Depot. Plus Trad's staff can tell you what will grow in your yard depending on sun, shade, etc. so you don't waste your money guessing. They have been having Saturday seminars which are really quite interesting and you can even contract them for landscape design, installation, lighting and irrigation. I've also used the pest control services and all my neighbors use Trad's too. Those that complain that their yards are ruined do so because they most likely don't follow the directions for lawn care after treatments. Trad's can't just fertilize and you expect miracles. As a homeowner, you still have to water as directed, weed, cut and everything else. They do what they are suppose to keep the bugs and weeds away. You still have to take care of your own yard.
