Clean and very comfortable 6/8/2011

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite with a whirlpool in the bedroom. That was a little strange. Living room had a balcony with a great view of the ocean and specifically a lighthouse. Queen size bed was clean and very comfortable. Plenty of available light, space for clothes, kitchen very functional. Coin operated laundry service down the hall on 3rd floor. more

Good Value 6/2/2011

I was worried abouyt staying here after reading the above reviews, but was pleasantly surprised by Trade Winds. The room my family rented was clean and pleasant. We had a balcony that looked out onto Rockland Harbor. The location is excellent. Hotel staff were pleasant and professional. I wouln't hesitate to stay at Trade Winds again. more

We have never had a bad room or service 5/31/2011

My husband and I travel to Maine from Florida approximately two to three times a year. We have stayed at the Tradewinds each time and absolutely love it. We have never had a bad room or service. The staff is friendly and goes out of their way to help in any way that they can. A pure joy after the terrible service you receive in Florida. We have recommended it to our daughter who is going to Maine in July, 2006 and our friend who will be visiting from Australia in September of 2006. The motel is in the process of renovating and they are doing an excellent job and the work has never interferred with our stay. We will be going back in September, 2006 and once again plan on staying at the Tradewinds. Good job people and thank you for a good time. more

Everything I need 5/26/2011

Whenever I plan a trip to the coast of Maine this is the first place I call. Located right outside of Camden and in the heart of Rockland, they offer everything I need to enjoy my trip. Their prices are great for the ocean view rooms you can enjoy. Offering an indoor swimming pool and excercise room, dual queen size beds per room, and a nice walk to everything I need, there is no reason for anyone who frequently visits this beautiful part of Maine to stay anywhere else. They are about a half hour drive away from the tourist town of Camdem and perfect for anyone wishing to go there without wanting to stay amongst the crowd. There is also the famous Mount Battie close by to either hike or drive up, offereing awe inspiring views of the coastline and Camden. Portland is just over two hours away should someone looking to go there be looking for a hotel away from the city. Your stay also includes access to the hotels restaurant, offering more than above average hotel faire. I persoanlly have been coming to this area for the past 20 years and have tried other lodgings, but no other hotel is more suited to my needs. more

Downright excellent 5/24/2011

My husband and I stayed at the Tradewinds for the first night of a four-day getaway on our 25th wedding anniversary. I had read the reviews on this site, and was dismayed, but was reassured by the manager that our room would be satisfactory. And satisfactory it was - it was downirght excellent! We had a great view of the water, and our room was extremely clean. You'd definitely need a room on 2nd and up floors for a view, as there is a large parking lot. The breakfast buffet was rather boring, but that wasn't a big deal. It was nice to be able to eat outside on the patio - lovely October weather! But we had a great stay, and would definitely go there again. Be sure to check out the lighthouse museum across the street - fascinating stuff! more

I would highly recommend the suite experience at this hotel 5/18/2011

Two adult couples shared a 3rd floor suite consisting on a master bedroom with king bed, bath with shower and living area featuring small kitchen and living room with sofa bed, fireplace, etc. Both areas had new flat screen tv sets and individual thermostats. We found the unit to be quiet and comfortable. The view was nice, although over the parking lot. We did not use the pool or exercise room, but they seemed fine. There is a nice Harbor View Room that gives folks in the smaller rooms a place to visit and enjoy the view. Staff was helpful and prompt. I would highly recommend the suite experience at this hotel. more

The rooms were clean, the service was friendly 5/16/2011

Stayed here over a weekend in May of 2008. The rooms were clean, the service was friendly and the breafkast was very good and filling. It is in a perfect spot in Rockland center, a few steps from some really nice shopping, restaurants and the museum. It is across the street from a nice public park with a gazebo that faces the water and there is a little rocky patch of beach (not for swimming) where the kids enjoyed tossing rocks into the ocean. It's not a fancy, schmancy hotel but it is clean and comfortable and we will probebly stay there again. The heated pool wasn't too big, but we had a nice time in it. more

Would not hesitate to return 5/10/2011

We stayed here for two nights. We chose it at the last minute, and chose it over the BW in Thomaston because it allows dogs. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were clean, and the bath fixtures were new and of high quality. Our room had a small cube refrig which was great. Breakfast was in the Red Jacket restaurant, which was very tastefully decorated and clean. The breakfast was fine for us, the usual bagels, toast, muffins, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and a quiche egg cup that you could warm in the microwave. Also coffee, tea, OJ and apple juice, and milk and a few small muffins. The food was basic but good enough for us for a $74/night room (AAA discount). The rooms, even without a balcony, had a very nice view of the harbor. The Lighthouse museum and visitors center was right across the street. The downtown area with its very cute shops was just a block away. The Owls Head Transportation Museum, a must see, was only 2 miles away. So it is very conveniently located. It has an indoor pool which was very warm. It has a hot tub as well. All in all we would not hesitate to return. more

Location is very centeral to everything. 5/2/2011

I was treated very well when a loud grouop occupied the next room. I was given a different room for the night and I greatly appreciated that service. Overlooking the water, seeing thed sunrise. The view from the 5th floor was excellent. Having a daily newspaper was nice too! I also appreciated having the room straightened, bed made and clean towels each day. Very good service. Thank you so much. more

DELICIOUS 3/14/2011

My wife and I visited Tradewinds wile on our honey moon. we had No plans just headed north. We cannot understand these bad reviews, AT ALL. this hotel had tons of character and charm, the room was immaculate, including flat screen T.V, hardwood floors, king size bed with comfy sheets and blankets, great view from private balcony, friendly staff, the indoor pool and hot tub were GREAT, an added bonus on the 2 rainy days, a quick stroll to the water and down town, and the restaurant was excellent, ""get the obvious, LOBSTER ROLL"".? more
