DO NOT LIVE HERE! 2/21/2011

I wish it were possible to give zero stars. I leased an apartment in the Piazza through Tower Investments and have had nothing but problems with them. On the first day we took a tour of the apartment, there was a package sitting by the door and the leasing agent said ""Does someone already live here?"" I should have realized that they had no idea what was going on in the building. There were endless problems with our lease and I just kept hoping that things would be okay when we moved in, but that was just wishful thinking. There was a list of things that needed to be fixed in the apartment and we were assured they would be taken care of, but when we moved in there were still paint scuffs all over the walls, holes in the walls, broken drawer pulls and dirty carpets. The people in the leasing office are incompetent and totally unqualified for their positions. We were told by numerous people about the utilities which we were responsible for, but then (surprise!) we got a gas bill in the mail - after being told they didn't use gas. Bills were transferred into my name before I even moved in! I think that's illegal.... So sorry for the long rant, but I'm still having problems with Tower Investments and just want you to warn you to save yourself and live somewhere else! more

Crooks 10/5/2010

I have rented from Tower for the past 2 years and will not be renewing my lease again. They claim to have such nice apartments, but really they are just overpriced. Things constantly break, they're not easy to get a hold of and they lie. Even when I first signed my lease and looked at my apartment, it was dirty and there were holes in the wall. I was assured that the place would be cleaned and repainted before I moved in. It was not. Even though I complained nothing was ever done about it. I was so happy to be in my new place that I just let it go. Then things started to break. my blinds fell on me in the middle of the night, the toilet constantly runs and when I have requested anything to be taken care of, I get no response. When they do decide to fix them, I get no notification, I just come home and find my apartment to be slightly different. Still, I overlooked these minor details and renewed my lease last time. Then my car was towed. Yes, I live in a building that has a parking lot and have parked the same car there for almost 2 years. I've called to see if I need a parking permit but at my particular building I was assured that no permit is needed. I work many hours so I left them a message and an email inquiring about my car. No response. Kept calling. Finally I was told where my car was towed to and that they want $2000 in order for me to get it back. I can't seem to get a straight answer as to why it was towed though and why they think it is okay to then charge me for my own car. It makes me sick that I still have to pay them each month. Yes, the piazza is a nice place (though again I would not want to live there.. it's loud, bright and overpriced) but only to visit. Don't give your money to these crooks. You can find less expensive, larger and nicer places all over northern liberties and still get all of the perks of the piazza. Don't be taken advantage of the way I have been. more
