Fries were soggy. Poppers were whatever. Cheesesteak looked and tasted like it came from the trash can. Left a vile aftertaste in my mouth and I could not finish it. Hamburger was grey, tasteless. more

The best ones tight here~! 1/8/2012

A buddy of mine and I decided to test all the cheese steaks in Philly after a chiller theater convention a few months back. We went to about 5 different places including Genos and the big crowd attractors. they were all good. But by the end of the day, we were doing a little shopping around and stumbled over this place. This place had the best tasting cheese steaks around. Even at the end of the day, this place still had a great taste. And we gave it the crown of cheesewits! more

Dont go for Delivery!!!! 6/1/2010 6/6/2010

June 1 2010 I ordered at 8:04pm. Recieved a called at 8:40pm to say no driver available and food would not arrive until maybe after closing, then said they only had 1 delivery person on a bike. 8:55pm called and stated food being prepared now and may arrive at9:25pm. Poor service and delivery this order was prepaid with a credit card 15% tip included. I'm not happy and the food isnt here yet. Food arrives at 9:30pm. Order is not right food has strange mistakes"" bacon and spinach salad has lettuce in it more than spinach."" Oreo cookie cake slices have missing whipped cream toppings. No way to complain Plus. Thank you so much for your extended patience. To say the least I am very sorry about the experience you had with Tony Jr's. Unfortunatley when I called them to get a discount for they were unmoving. I am so incredibly sorry about this and all the inconveniences it has caused. As a gesture of good will we have placed 10 FoodlerBucks to your account to be used at your leisure. Rude service - lousy treatment 7/11/2008

Friends enjoyed the steak sandwich - the pork was mushy and not so good. The onion reings came out in a clump and when we asked for a new order the server argued that we had eaten a few and should not have waited to re-order. Very rude service - food was just slapped on the table. I really don't plan to ever revisit the spot or recommend it to any of my friends. Lousy in general. Cons: Rude service - argumentative. more

The best roast beef sandwiches around ! 5/27/2008

Tony Lukes has the best roast beef and roast pork sandwiches around I won""t eat roast beef from any where else ! more

Editorial review from GrubHub 2/29/2008

Chicken Cutlet sandwich with Brocoli Rabe and Sharp Provolone-Very good sandwich, nice bread, thinly prepared cutlets and tasty brocoli rabe. The cutlets were nice and thin, although I think they may have been a little overcooked. I prefer my Brocoli Rabe a little al dente, but it was certainly delicious. more

Great pork! 5/7/2006

The best roast pork around. If you're looking for a quick great bite, this is the place to go. No fancy decor or atmosphere whatsoever, the focus is on the food. The fries are o.k. here and they also have cheesesteaks and ostrich burgers. more

Not Good. 3/9/2006

There are so many places to get cheese steaks, roasted pork + hoagies in this town. This is NOT one of them. Took some out of town friends yesterday for a ""Philly food fest"". Wish I would have taken my guest elsewhere. Had a bunch of differant things. All tasted below average. Go somewhere else. more

Impeccable 8/27/2004

When it comes to hoagies, I despise the national chains. You know who I'm talking about. Tony Jr's menu is absolutely to die for. How do I know this??? Well, how about I make a trip to Philly from the west coast just to eat some of the best food in the world. When in Philly, Tony's is a must stop for the BEST sandwich, be it steak, hoagie, whatever. I just visited the center city branch of the original Tony Lukes. Not much decorating goin' on, but hey, who cares, you'll be stuffing your face thinking your in heaven this food is so good. Pros: Authentic, 1 sandwich feeds 4, Excellent price Cons: , No parking, Too far from my house more

steaks at Lukes 1/27/2003

There food is the best The steaks are not chewy or tough. And at night Pete at the window makes your trip worth the wait. more

The best I've had yet 1/26/2003

I've had almost all of 'em (except Pat's)...this was the absolute best so far. I ordered cheesesteaks and ham hoagies to take home with me...both were to-die-for. Genuine Philly taste in the upper-crusty Rittenhouse district. Believe me...try it. Pros: great food, good location more
