Best Christmas Party 12/26/2008

My company had our Christmas party here and we had so much fun. They played our own Ipod so we could dance!! Who does that?? They even had Christmas movies playing on the big screens. Food was good. Our bartender was so HOT! I know I'll be back for that alone!! Good stuff! Definately, going back. I have never been on a typical Friday or Sat. night, so I can't agree or disagree with others on here. I can imagine it gets busy, but I am not sure that's a bad thing?? Great people watching! They lied. 12/13/2008

I called the event planner and made a reservation for a birthday party with 20 people. The person I spoke with told me that my friends and I would be in the back, that they contolled every speaker in the place so it wouldn't get too loud, and that there was plenty of dancing space. When we got there we were seated all the way in the front by the door, which blew cold air every time it was opened, the music was ridiculously loud and no matter what they did, if anything, was still ridiculously loud, there was no dancing space. The food was good, for the most part. The staff was nice enough and they gave us a bottle of free champagne to make us happy, except that we don't like champagne. The place is ok for the purpose it serves, but the fact is I was lied to. Pros: None in this case Cons: Bad planning more

I had my birthday party here this year and had a blast! The service was amazing and we danced all night. And the rooftop...wow! Our bottle was very affordable and everyone was happy in the end! Pros: service,atmosphere more

OM, this place was amazing! Had my sister's bachlorette party there in July and we had a great time! The service was way more than I expected. We did and open bar with dinner and I can't believe how much we got for such a good price. The crowd was great and the music was even better! It got a bit crowded but that was fine b/c everyone was having such a GREAT time! Highly recommended!!!!!!1 Pros: price, music Cons: one bathroom all the way down stairs more

This place has great service and I love love love the rooftop what NYer wouldn't! Other than some of the annoying bridge and tunnel patrons this place is a 3rd ave fav. !! Great Time! Great Rooftop 7/1/2008

We had a corporate event here at Tonic East on the rooftop and myself and my clients couldn't have been any happier. The staff was very professional yet fun and friendly! The food was great and everything came out before we even had to ask! What could have been better than coronas that your boss is paying for on an outdoor deck! I never write reviews but after my awesome birthday party at Tonic I had too! The event planner and all the managers were so helpful in making sure my birthday was extra special! I looked high and low for an affordable place to have my birthday party and Tonic had the best open bar prices and the best wings!!! Cant wait to have another event here! more

Beware - Never plan a party there! 6/16/2008

As for the bar itself, you cant help but love the rooftop and multi-level bars. HOWEVER, I planned an open bar party here recently and was made into a bouncer, collecting money from my own guests, putting on bracelets, and holding onto over a grand in cash. This process ruined the first half hour of a 3 hr open bar. On top of it all, they wrongly charged WAY more than they promised in an attempt to take advantage of a bday girl after 3 hours of open drinking. WORST BAR IN NYC! do not go! 6/16/2008

My friend just had a party there and it was a disaster. the bar basically lied about everything. they were not helpful, they charged her over what her contract said, they didnt tell her the roof closed at 11pm when her party was supposed to be on the roof from 10pm-1am. rude manager, party planner, and bartenders. i never write reviews but after this horrible experience and seeing how upset was my friend was on her bday i couldnt let this happen to other people. AVOID THIS BAR! more

Great spot for a game! 6/4/2008

I loved this spot for my after work birthday gathering where I wanted lots of tv's and outdoor seating to watch the Yankees. Management was kind enough to rope off an area for us even though we did not book a party. The only con is that after happy hr the drinks are way too much! Looking for a spot like this where I can watch the game outdoors but drinks are much less. Suggestions please!! Good Music, Fun place 3/24/2008

I was there this weekend orginally just to watch all the march madness games but after all the games where over the dj switched on and Tonic turned into an awesome club scene. It was so much fun- we stayed all night long but it was a great time. Try their mini kegs lots of beer!!! Pros: moni kegs, lots of tvs, music more
