Ozzes quality 7/4/2006

Been staying in Harvard for the past week. Just wish I'd found this place sooner. Great spot for lunch Got the ""buck a burger"" - yes a dollar for a burger today. They sell the first ten burgers before 12pm for a burger. Now where can you get that these days? The staff were great and the atmosphere with the game was amazing. Going back in tonight, they've a live irish session. Should be fun. more

Fantastic World Cup Set Uo 7/4/2006

Three floors full of screaming soccer fans would have put me running a mile. But the set up was fantastic, all theatre style seating (or stadium seating as the staff put it) Big screen down and plasma's on showing the game and the sound was fantastic. The kitchen served specials from the respective countries too. It has been the best afternoon of fun I've had in some time. Roll on the play off's for the sox as i'll be seating on the top floor right in the middle. Excellent. Well done! Get there early is my only advice. as there was a que outside the door today. Pros: great atmosphere, food was great Cons: not one more

Best Night out in Years 6/30/2006

Just returned from Tommy Doyles in Harvard square. What an evening my wife, friends and I had. We're all on the older side of our 40's and i was a touch reserved about attending a restaurant our daughter had recommended. We walked into a cozy main floor, with dozens of pictures of ireland adorning the walls, shelves of bits and pieces and irsh folk music playing lightly in the back ground we were promptly seated by Eric (great guy full of chat). We went through a huge menu of all types of items while Eric got our drinks and he recomended the baked haddock, he had us sold. it was mouth watering, fantastic, wonderfull words can't describe it. It would beat the socks of l egal seafoods any day. Peter (who we later discovered was the overall General Manager of the group) was passing and asked how were we finding our meal, he stood there with us for 20 mins chatting about Ireland and what he thought of Boston. Haven't met such a savvy guy in years. He suggested we go upstairs for the game, my godness the place was huge. A huge screen greeted us and to my suprise plasma's and smaller tv's dotted the adjoining walls. Peter slipped us guys over a pint of murphys which he claimed is the real stout of ireland and popped 2 ""dirty Irishmen"" over to the ladies. The night progressed magnificently, even when the dj started we whirled the dance floor. I would highly recommend this location for anyone, young and old this establishment will go on for years and i assure you will become a land mark in Harvard square very very soon. Streets ahead of anything or anywhere we've been in years. Thanks again guys. We'll see you soon, this time we'll bring the whole family in. Pros: 5 star food, 5 star service, fantastic atmosphere Cons: no valet parking more

Service,quality & Fun Second to None 4/23/2006

We have just returned from a 40th birthday party in the Crimson Lounge @ Tommy Doyles. The food was fantastic, Jim our barman's attention to detail was awesome,he spolt us rotten, even sag us happy birthday along with two of the other staff. What really blew us away was when the manager mat invited us to sunday Gospel Brunch in the morning. Complimentary! I'd highly recommend tommy's for any function and it will be first on our list. Pros: inexpensive, lively Cons: no valet more

Great place to eat or party 3/30/2006

Tommy Doyle's is the new talk of Harvard Square. New in the fall of 2005, it has exploded in popularity. Late at night, their three levels allows you to choose from partying with a DJ on the top floor, eating with friends on the second floor or going to that private party you were invited to on the lower floor. The food is yummy, the atmosphere is fun and the service is good. Great for large groups (although there's not a lot of sitting room later in the evening) and a fun place to celebrate a birthday or simply the fact that it's a Friday night after a long week of school or work. Weekdays are hopin' too! Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Fun Cons: Parking, Loud more

At last a great place in Harvard 1/19/2006

Just discovered this place during the world cup. Has the biggest screen I've ever seen on the top floor along with about a dozen other screens, more on the ground floor and yes even more in the basement (which they call the crimson lounge). Food is great and varied, staff were all irish and great fun, alan the owner was very helpful and a great host. Finally a decent place has opened in Harvard sq.It also has a great stage to see a live gig......... Pros: dozens of screen, great service, excellent food Cons: no valet parking more

Simply Fantastic 1/19/2006

We found Tommy Doyles in Harvard sq, to be fantastic and a breath of fresh air to the either pompus stuck up bars or the grungy ones. The staff are authentic and great fun, always up for some fun. Our group had a most memorable night and we'll def be back. Why does both restaurants have the same review?? Pros: Live music, night club, excellent food Cons: only 1 in Harvard sq more

Good Craic Finally Comes to Harvard 1/18/2006

Just discovered this great place at the old House of Blues. Good food, great service, and the place is absolutely gorgeous. My friends and I have made this place a must stop on our Saturday nights out. They've got all sorts of entertainment, and each floor has it's own vibe so whatever your mood you'll be sure to have a good time. The staff is efficient and very friendly. Pros: varied menu, entertainment, atmosphere more
