Poor service, poor food 12/6/2008

First, let me say that I contacted the GM after our terrible lunch and she was extraordinarily polite and professional. She offered us a free meal of up to $20. Unfortunately, the food quality and service were so bad, we aren't willing to go back. We waited in a practically empty restaurant for 30 minutes to receive food that was cold. My husband's wrap was pretty good; but, my black bean burger tasted like a lukewarm patty of tin can & raw onion. The potato fries were the coldest, least appetizing thing on the plates. Unfortunately, our waitress never returned to our table to ask how our food was. We flagged down another server and asked for fresh fries. He promised to get more and told our waitress (in front of us and three feet away from our table) that the food was delivered cold. She told him to tell the kitchen; she didn't make eye contact with us, didn't check on us, didn't come by the table. When the replacement food came out, lunch was finished. I didn't finish my meal and, Lord, I can eat just about anything! No one on the floor apologized, offered an explanation, or wanted to deal with us at all. My husband and I have worked in the restaurant business for years; we even met waiting tables. We tend to be pretty patient and understanding if a good place is having a bad day. But when you have inept service, a poorly executed menu, and kitchen that happily puts out cold food, there's no reason to return. Pros: location, management wants to "make it right" Cons: service, ticket time, food quality more

Service was poor and the food was cold 8/29/2008

Having seen the menu online before eating at Three Bears Cafe, I was looking forward to the experience. I recently went to lunch there with a friend. When a staff member brought our water out and my friend's glass was dirty, the response from the staff member was that 'it was stained'. As an after thought, the staff member turned back around and asked if my friend wanted another glass. The waitress arrived to take our orders shortly after that. I ordered an additional drink item to which she responded that it was no longer on the menu (as she walked away). I wasn't given the option to order anything else. I ordered the asparagus wrap. When it arrived (after what seemed to be an extraordinarily long time, but I can't say for sure), the sweet potato fries were ice cold. We pointed this out to the lady that brought our food (not our waitress). She replied that she would return with some more. The wrap was pretty tasty, but relatively short on asparagus (maybe one stalk in the whole sandwich). We finished our sandwiches, but the replacement fries never arrived. When our wairess arrived with our check (the second time we saw her) we pointed out the fact that our food was cold and we never received the replacement fries, she did not apologize or seem the least concerned except to say 'well there was a large party of jurors' with what I swear was eye-rolling. For $18 for lunch and only drinking water, I would have expected at least half-assed service and warm food, not non-existent service and cold food. I will not recommend this place to anyone and in fact, will discourage others from eating there. Pros: Dining outside, people watching Cons: lousy service, pricey food, cold food more

Good Concept, Bad Execution 8/27/2008

3 Bears seems to pride itself on providing healthy versions of the comfort foods we all love to eat. The food is always fresh, but sometimes bland. Breakfast is definitely their strong suit, but service is always slow no matter what time of day you visit. I'm guessing this is due in large part to the small kitchen within the facility. All in all, it's worth trying, but be prepared to wait. Pros: Outdoor seating Cons: Service more
