Thornton Studios was hired by my college to take graduation portraits. I showed up to the hole in the wall studio and took my pictures on May 20, 2011. My session lasted about 40 ...

Very friendly 6/9/2011

I needed a passport photo and someone mentioned. He was right. They really cared to make sure you look good even it's just a passport photo. I should have checked with him before I waste $15 in Doi Camera with a mean Asian woman -- my photo came out looking like a mugshot. Thanks to very friendly photographer at Thornton Studio, I get to carry around a good photo of me for next 10 years. more

Amazing 5/26/2011

I took my 17 year old daughter to Thornton Studio to get a senior portrait taken. It was recommended by a friend. Her photo had been taken by another studio at her high school and the results had her crying. At Thornton Studio we had a bunch of photos taken both in a cap and gown and with a "drape". The photographer was professional. We received proofs shortly afterward and were able to choose several shots for different family members and large size wallets with her first name on them in gold lettering for her friends. My only regret is that I acted to late to have one of these photos printed in her yearbook. more

Helpful, good results, great prices! My first experience with Thornton was a good one. Recommended to me by a camera clerk at B&H Photo and Video, I went to Thornton with a bunch of rolls of Kodak Professional black-and-white film from a 10000-mile road trip. They were able to develop the film, and they do so for prices that beat numerous other competitors. The job was done on time and done well, and I'll definitely do business with them again. more

great lab and studio Classic studio portraits are offered at this spacious Manhattan storefront. Thornton's is also a full services lab for photographers, with tradition dip and dunk processing to high-end digital photofinishing - all at bargain prices. A definite asset to Chelsea. more
