Theater in the Round, located in Uptown Minneapolis, is a local troupe of actors who, as the name suggests, perform on a circular stage. The troupe itself is pretty decent (the production of MacBeth I saw there was kind of disappointing, but the play itself isn't as interesting to see as it is to read). What's really neat, though, is the setup of the theater. The circular stage allows the audience to wrap almost entirely around the actors, so you get a three-dimensional performance as opposed to the two-dimensional one you'd get from a straight stage. Be careful, though; if you sit too far to either side, you end up seing the backsides of many actors for most of the show.
