More than Horrible Expereince 10/17/2010

Myself and my boyfriend was attacked, threatened and abused by one of the bouncers that works at this location. Myself and my boyfriend and 2 of my other friends went to the Puck to play some pool. The entire time that I was there I did not have 1 single alcoholic beverage. Me and my friends went out to their designated smoking area where we sat and talked with a few other people outside. 1 of the men that was in outside tried to tell me his last name (I could not pronounce it) I jokingly stated to the man that "no one would ever want to marry him because of his last name" the man than flipped us off and called me some inappropriate names. Me and my friends sat outside and finished our cigarrettes as the man walked back into the inside of the bar. After our cigarettes we decided to leave. On our way in the man with the difficult last name and his friends continued to call us names and flip us off. One of the bouncers that was working there stated that we need to leave so we proceeded outside where I was thrown to the ground by the bouncer. I tried to defend myself by scratching and kicking at the bouncer. The other bouncer put my boyfriend in a choke hold and threatened to beat him with a police batton. The other bouncer that was on top of me kept stating to me that I was going to jail and tried to handcuff me. I slipped the handcuff off of my wrist and proceeded to try and get up to leave but I was thrown to the ground again by the bouncer. One of my friends was trying to pick me up off of the ground and asking the bouncer to let me go so that we can go home. He finally let me up off the gorund after my boyfriend proceeded to call the cops. The cops stated that the guy in the bar that was mad about his last name was a bouncer there as well. This man was in a football jersey and was drinking and eating with his friends he was not working as a bouncer. I feel this situation was taken way to far by the bouncers that are employed at the Puck. Also please keep in mind that I am a 5'2" female weighing about 130 pounds and the bouncer that attacked me was samoan and weighed well over 200 pounds and had absolutly no right to attack me in the manner that he did. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking to just have a good time. more

Horrible Expereince 5/23/2009

My friends and I decided to go to the Puck to eat and drink before an event. First off, there was absolutely no place to sit in the entire place, except a table with no chairs on the smoking deck. When we asked for chairs, we were snapped at and told "No!". We then proceeded to stand at the table, waiting for someone to take an order, half an hour later, after being blatantly ignored by the wait staff, and having personally asked one of the waitresses to please come help my party, I went to speak to a manager, which is something I have never had to do in all my years. The manager walked up to me dripping in disdain, while the waitress I was including in my complaint, stood at my shoulder so she could hear what I was going to say. I proceeded to tell the manager about my displeasure, and she basically told me, "well, this is a bar, we are busy". She also told us they dont' serve food on the smoking patio, and when I told her we'd been watching servers bring it out there for the last 30 minutes, she told me "no, people are just carrying it out there. She then turned her back and walked away from me, offering no help or resolution. We then walked back to get the rest of our party to leave, without eating, and as we walked off the patio, the same waitress, was carrying plates of food out on to the patio to serve people. I've never been treated so poorly at an establishment before, we will never go back to The Puck Pros: None, based on this experience Cons: Staff and Management more

Like sports and beer? 2/27/2003

This is a really good sports bar. The whole idea of this place is exactly what it should be; keep the beer coming, make the hamburgers juicy, place a t.v. monitor at every angle, and let everyone get loud and friendly. The place is sort of blue-collar, beer, and hockey oriented (exactly what I need every now and then). The only thing that keeps me from coming here more often is the location. It's a great spot before or after a hockey game at the nearby E-Center, otherwise it's a bit of a strange location (surrounded by West Valley City stripmall retail shops). Pros: Service, Menu, T.V. Monitors more
