I was extremely dissatisfied with the Old Meeting house. I don't know why everyone is saying they had ""excellent customer service"" because my experience was quite the opposite. I had read good reviews and I liked the look of the building so I decided to reserve it without seeing it first (I was living out of state at the time but planning my wedding to be in Utah). I made special arrangements to have my mom fly to Utah and I drove 5 1/2 hours to come and see the place and plan my wedding. I felt like they were annoyed that I was there. They didn't shake hands with us or pay any attention to the color samples I brought with me. They just shuffled us into a tour of the place and told us exactly what would happen on the night of the wedding. I'm sorry, but isn't it MY wedding?? Every idea I had visioned for my wedding was shot down immediately when I suggested it. Even when I made other suggestions and small changes to my ideas, they were shot down. I almost started playing a game in my head with the owner to see if there was any possible way to appease her. It took about 4 different suggestions for her to finally say ""Well, yeah, I guess that would work."" I imagined the owner of the venue I selected to have my wedding at would be excited to help me plan, perky, eager to make suggestions, smiling frequently, and kind to me as the bride. The owner of the Old Meeting House is NONE of those things. She is very old and has been in the business for ""33 years."" She has been in the business too long because she has lost the magic of holding weddings. The prices were way too high for the customer service they provide. I was so dissatisfied that I ended up cancelling my reservation because they were so horrible. When we called and cancelled our reservation we told them how dissatisfied we were but they refused to give us our $500 dollar deposit back. In my mind, any price was worth it to get away from that place and their grumpy attitude. They were entirely opposite from what I was planning for my wedding.
