Completely Overrated, Poor Quality, and Stomach Pain 5/30/2011

My husband and I ordered a White Spinach Pizza on whole wheat crust this past Friday night for delivery. Because of food allergies I ordered my half without mozzarella. When we sat down and opened the box the pizza was very thin, dry and looked like an after thought. My half had shriveled pieces of spinach & literally 2-3 tiny pieces of feta cheese on each piece. There was no fresh garlic to be seen on either half. My husbands side had a thin rubbery layer of mozzarella cheese along with the 2-3 small pieces of feta and the shriveled pieces of scattered spinach. Because we had already waited so long we reluctantly ate it since it was already so late. BIG MISTAKE! Both of us had stomach pains within an hour of eating it and had upset for a couple days following. We will NEVER eat there or order for delivery. What a joke that people spend money at this place or that they are called upper crust! Horrible experience! more

Frustrating, but well-intentioned. 3/8/2010

This stuff is art house pizza. Before you step inside the little eating space, linger outside for a moment. I want you to watch the chefs through the extra-wide window that borders the kitchen. Now enter the restaurant and chill out beneath the pizza platter ceiling and hip, minimal decor. You are cool for being here. Pros: gourmet, thin crust, Cons: narrow slices, outlandish prices, aloof service more

Sometimes Excellent Sometime Just OK 11/7/2008

Going to Upper Crust can be a great pizza experience, but sometimes it's also a disappointment. The slices at times are large with a generous amount of excellent sauce and great cheese. But sometimes you get a slice that's a bit small with not enough topping on it. The thin crust is always good. The slices are a bit on the pricey side so when they skimp on the sauce and cheese it hurts. But when their slices get it right, they are really good. more

Great thin crust pizza 10/26/2008

This is the best pizza in Boston as far as I'm concerned. They deliver, have great toppings, etc., but the best part here is the crust. Thin, crispy, and irregular edges that really taste great! Pros: great thin crust pizza Cons: not enough seating! more

Great! 9/1/2008

Excellent pizza, I really love their basic basil, mozz and tomato! They have a number of locations so it's always easy to find one when in need. more

WORST service and only so so pizza - GO ELSEWHERE! 8/24/2008

I will never go here again even though I live right down the street! They have mixed up or forgotten so many orders. I show up to pick up my pizza and they had given it away to someone else - they offered NO apology, wanted to give me store credit instead of money back, and said they were too busy to rush me another pizza! The pizza isn't even that good. Not worth the frustration more

Very, Very Good 7/1/2008

Awesome pizza! A definite stop at any location! They have great toppings, and great quality pizza. Delicious. more

It doesn't get better than this 2/21/2008

The Upper Crust is my absolute favorite place in Coolidge Corner. Everyone knows that their pizza is unbeatable, look in ANY food review source, everyone loves them. What people may not know is the level of dedication they have to their customers. I am their for lunch maybe once or twice a week, the staff is always friendly and always greets me by name, regardless of how busy they are. I've have on more than one occasion seen them run out the door to chase down a customer who has forgotten a belonging, helped mother's with their strollers, and are always willing to take an extra few moments to candidly give their personal menu recommendations. I'll be honest, I love thier pizza, but it's their excellent customer relation skills that will keep me as a loyal customer. Pros: The service is a excellent as the pizza more

Very good pizza, a bit pricey 10/16/2007

Upper Crust is a great name for a pizza place that has a great mix of crispy and chewy crust. High quality eating, but you do pay for it, as it's a bit on the high end, which I suppose should be expected from a place called 'upper crust'. Enjoy Pros: Great pizza Cons: a bit pricey more

perfect pizza 9/25/2007

By far the best pizza in Boston. Their wheat crust pizza is outstanding. The staff is always friendly and helpful. A wide variety of toppings and specialty pizzas. I have never once had a bad exoerience at Upper Crust. Pros: delivery more

Overpriced and awful 7/29/2007

Pizza was delivered cold, with a crust that was thin, but like cardboard. Skimpy toppings and apparently you need to specify that you want cheese on your pie, since ours came without. New bride says: If this is the best of Boston, I'll eat my pizza in Jersey."" There's better pizza everywhere. Pros: It's pizza Cons: Overpriced, crust like cardboard, skimpy toppings, need to specify cheese if you want it, delivered cold more

No big deal 12/31/2006

I've eaten at the upper crust a few times and ordered delivery as well, and each time the pizza has been decent but the service has been poor. The staff are not very friendly, and everytime I have ordered delivery, it arrives late. I once ordered on a friday night, albeit a busy time, and the pizza hadn't arrived in nearly three hours! I canceled the order and called another pizzeria, which had a pizza at my doorstep twenty minutes later. If you want good pizza and good service, there are much better places in town. Pros: the pizza is decent Cons: the service is poor more

Best Pizza in Boston 12/17/2006

I love Pizza and Upper Crust is hands down the best pizza in Boston. Truly love their sauce. I usually just go in and get a slice but there are many great pie options as well as pizza on whole wheat. Pros: great food Cons: small and sometimes crowded more

Totally Overrated 8/20/2006

I was so excited to try this pizza because we moved from NYC and haven't found a good pizza place. This is what people think is good pizza? It tasted like a warm pita bread with canned ingredients. It was rubbery and the crust was tasteless. I won't go back. Upper Crust is WAY overrated! Cons: Parking, Food, Price more

Best pizza in entire Boston area! 8/13/2006

Mmmm! Thin crispy crust, fresh ingredients! This is what Boston has been missing! A bit expensive for pizza, but worth it. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Pros: Finally- real pizza in Boston more

Always go here when I'm in Coolidge Corner 8/3/2006

We used to live in Coolidge Corner and I miss Upper Crust. The pizzas are huge with creative toppings. I love the lunch specials. The pizzas are pricey, but it's worth it to not get the usual bad pizza you find in Boston. I always go here when I'm in the neighborhood. Pros: Really good pies Cons: A little pricey more

Amazing Pizza 7/14/2006

Excellent pizza, the price is a little bit on the expensive side considering it's just pizza, but well worth it. It can get crowded here at times, so be aware. Pros: Good pizza Cons: Parking more

Upper Crust=Amazing 6/25/2006

Upper Crust is amazing! The slices may be a bit expensive, but they completely fill me up! I am so lucky on the nights I go there and see that the Slice of the Day is their Sliced Tomato, Basil and Mozarella. Delicious and totally worth the $3 something dollars. more
